Where do you see this? I checked Paradox Plaza and didn't see anything. Honestly if they brought the timeline right back to the Migration Period it would be pretty freaking awesome.

Aperently they announced it on thier livestream today, but I missed it. I found this though so hopefully it's legit.

Cool. Another 100 years to play with. The Carolingian empire was pretty damn awesome, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Yeah I'm actually really hyped for this. Everyone seems to be really upset about it. I hope they have an official announcement on the forums soon so I can be 100% sure that it's real.
They announced this on Gamescon today. After that, they announced it on the Paradox twitter. No more info, though.
(Sarcasm) Great! The Crusades weren't ignored enough. Good thing the game isn't named after them or this would be really annoying.
yeah, before the feudal system..should be interesting ...more rpg elements..and ..a huge $20 tag

Yes, please. Frisii, Franks, Thervingi, Greuthungi, Vandals, Angles, Saxons, Gepids, Suebi, Alemanni and Burgundians and also the Huns and Alans and Avars and Slavs and Bulgars and all of the rest. I think I just had a history nerdgasm. I just recently finished rereading Peter Heather's awesome Empires and Barbarians: The Fall of Rome and the Birth of Europe.

Sadly, this new DLC that they announced is a bit late for that by several centuries. But it still looks interesting enough.

Coming from the EU IV forum, this just made my day. :golden:

Charlemagne I'm interested in though, and 100 more years is always a good thing.
I was so overjoyed to see that Charlemagne is finally going to be added with the DLC. As far as I'm concerned, the deeper into the dark ages we can go the better. I'd love to go back even further some day maybe to the six or even five hundreds AD. It would be really fun to relive the saxon conquest of Britain or get into the golden age of Byzantium. I guess its kind of hard what with records from that time being somewhat harder to come by though.
