That was my bad. The actual file name is tf2_materials_dir, for one. Anyway, are you familiar with installing custom models and skins into TF2/SFM?
1.open SourceFilm maker
2.right click and press Add Particle and click browse
3.go back all the way to your hard drive
4. got toe Program Files (x86)
5 find Steam, then go to Steam Apps, Common, SourceFilmmaker, game, tf, particles
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\tf\particles
If this did not help at all.. go back and try again at what Crimson did
