This topic is 6 years old and a solution for whatever was causing this problem to manifest this way was never found. There's no reason for it to keep getting necro'd.

Give an example of an item you think did not download, I can point you to the folder it lives in if I have it, or download it and let you know if it causes a problem for me as well.

Post the link to the workshop item.

Ok Wembley, it as simple as this... and this shows you where they should install to as well. Materials are in the same path under the materials folder.

(This is an unpublished video, so I just might add it to a guide later, but I think there is already a guide on sownloading from the workshop there already. I'll leave it up for a couple of days though.)

If it still doesn't work, try launching steam as an administrator, it just might not have enough authority to write files to your program files (x86) folder.

If that doesn't work, validate your program's local cache.
this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I have this issue too
Are you trying to do it through Steam or over the Internet? If through Steam, could be Steam. If through Internet, check to make sur your Internet isn't "wonky".
Just gonna copy this from another forum post

Right-click Source FilmMaker in Steam, click Properties > General > Set Launch Options..., and make sure "-nosteam" is not there, then reboot Source FilmMaker. Did this help?
