I really need a solution too.
The game looks awesome!
But yeah, this sucks.
I found a solution!
Go to your Start menu and search "device manager" (without the quotes). click on the Device manager in the list to open the program.
Open the Human Interface Devices list and look for HID-compliant game controller, then right click on the HID-compliant game controller and click Disable.
Then run the game and it shouldn't crash anymore!
If it still crashes try Disabeling all HID devices on the Human Interface Devices list.
I hope it works for you as well as it did for me! :)
Funnily my thank you comment started the same way!
OH MY GOD! XD
Things I've tried
- Updating Video Drivers
- Running in compadibility mode
- Running in a forced resolution
- Disabling the HID-compliant game controller and others
- Running as Administrator
- Turning off Firewall
- The soloutions with the txt file
- Disabling Xbox 360 Controller in proccesses
- Vertifying Cache
All that happens is the game pops up, I get a black screen and nothing happens. Occasionally I'll get some sound that sounds like it's skipping, but it crashes eventually. I am forced to CTRL ALT DELETE out of it. I opened the launcher file and it tells me the game isn't registered "Please register the game under ______ and try again"
I"ve tried finding the code but it's nowhere to be found on my computer. Steam never gave me one and nothing is working.
My PC
ATI HD 6950
I5 2500k
Windows 7 64 Bit
8 GB Of ram
Now I'm reinstalling. I'm thinking it's a problem with EA's DRM. But hell as I know, I'm just going off what the launcher file is saying. There were other dumb errors in there too such as "System clock isn't set properly " when it is, or some region error (yet I live in Canada? Never had this problem before) So I don't know what to make sense of here. Hopefully reinstalling fixes this
EDIT: Well after about 3 hours of trying to fix this I finally found a soloution. Ran CCleaner and deleted all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistrubution packages, then reinstalled the 2010 version.
After that I rebooted my computer and everything worked fine.
