Im not enjoying this game its probally because its really dated but could i skip it and go strait to 2

Im sure its good but i cant enjoy it graphics dont make the game but it helps for imersion and a game like this that is key

Yeah the major plot points from this game will be told to you in the second game when you have to answer questions on the shuttle to see the Martin Sheen character.

seriously? The graphics aren't even that bad, they're pretty good for what, 2008? If you need shiny graphics to get into this game then perhaps its not for you because this whole trilogy is story based off each game. If you skip one then you will be missing a lot

yeah i just started mass effect 2 played it for about 2 hours and its really great idk just didnt like the first

There are two things i can recommend you for making Mass Effect 1 a little less "old", first thing is to remove the Film Grain option in the graphics settings, and second is to use the player made mod that is a complete make-over of the graphics of the game. I must warn you though, the mod itself is around 9 gb big but it is worth it.

If you are only playing the game for the end-game story then yes, you don't even need to play 2 to get the general story in 3. (Although Mass Effect 2, as you have discovered, was quite enjoyable) However, even if the big story is not revealed much in the first game, I still would recommend my friends to play it for the sheer reason of few characters such as Wrex that will only have cameos and what not in the later episodes of triology, and he is a companion in the first one. If you care about the companions and their stories, personalities etc, I would still advice you to bite to bullet and play the first game with the M.E.U.I.T.B (the graphic overhaul).

Play through all 3 games. I have a short list of mods and tweaks linked in my review, you can also look along the community page here to find them. If you want to see screens you'll have to look at my "non steam games Origin" screens to see the latest shots after the upgraded graphics or search the web elsewhere. It is completely worth it to do every side quest and explore every planet. The most trivial things could suprise you in the next games. Lacrima mentioned the MEUITM mod, get that. It's fantastic.
