It’s interesting right up to the first playthrough, then you start to abuse the mechanics and hope that random will give you the cards you need

So, I was perusing the message boards on random games, trying to get a pulse on a few of them, when someone recommended this specific game, said something to the effect is was ostensibly better than "Slay the Spire"...I looked it up, kind of smirked to myself, then saw that it was on sale via a flash deal for $4.99 USD and I thought, "Why not?". Installed it and well...almost five hours later I was still playing it. I do not know whether the hook is as good as Slay the Spire, it is a bit different in that instead of a lone warrior you have clans, but the deck building and the overall presentation are superior in some ways. Further, you are not at the behest of the RNG and pre-destined deck outputs, which is what Slay the Spire is...what this means is, at least in the base game, you are given more leeway if you happen to make a mistake. Always good for a roguelite deck builder, and for beginners, and for anyone who lacks patiences for these sorts of nuances that come with new deck building systems. In other words, it's intuitive, it is fun, and most of all, accessible. If you like Slay the Spire, of deck builders generally speaking, then this should be an instant purchase, especially at $4.99. I did not purchase the expansion yet as I wanted to enjoy the base game first. I highly recommend this title. It is an intuitive, addicting, roguelite deck builder with some truly sublime music to accompany it. Look forward to more from this developer. Rating: 90/100 -LoA-
