How do I get Altis?

Im a little confused, is this a seperate dlc I need to buy or what? I updated arma 3 to the latest version and I did not see the map.

Altis is currently on the Dev Build which you can access through steam. Altis will be on the stable build on September 12th.

Oh I see, I dont have the dev biuld so I cannot see it on the stable build. Got it. Thanks for the help.

you just need to to right click on your arma 3 beta in library, click properties, select betas tab and switch to 'development- development build'

I've tried this but Steam does not give me the option to choose "development- development build' under the Beta tab. Where it says: "Select the beta you would like to opt into:" the only choise given is:

"NONE - Opt out of all beta programs"

So what now?

Problem solved. I had to go to "Steam - Settings - "Account" tab. And change my Beta participation to "Steam beta update". Then when I go to arma 3 beta in library, click properties, select betas tab and switch to development built like everyone else :-)

Advice: do NOT switch out of dev branch until AFTER the launch... if you switch back to stable branch too early, it'll download the pre-launch stable branch, THEN download the launch content which you would have already had if you'd stayed on dev branch...

hi there is no expansion yet, only community mademods, which u subscribe and download from workshop

To be clear: the workshop has missions, not mods. You can subscribe to all the great missions people make there. Some of them are really amazing.

For mods: You can get mods from Armaholic, BIS forums, or Play With Six. I personally use the Arma3Sync launcher to play the game with certain mods enabled.

Here is a video on the basics of installing mods. It doesn't cover using launchers or Play With SIx, but it will show you the basics, which you should learn first.

It's just a mission. Install the game like normal, find the life servers and join. They don't use mods and missions are downloaded automatically so just join the server. Couldn't be easier.
