For anyone that isn't in the know, The 7th Guest was originally an old horror/puzzle game from the early 90's, back when survival horror was barely a concept genre wise. Back when titles like Alone in the Dark were still new, innovative and... well... good...

The 7th Guest was in that ballpark. At it's core, it's a puzzle game and little more, but with a spooky coat of paint thrown onto it that gave the original a feel and ascetic that made it unique and interesting for the type of game it was. The new VR version of this game isn't much different, and is effectively the same game the original was. But here's the thing: It's everything the original was, but updated for the times!

There's plenty of situations where this could be seen as a bad thing, but that's not the case here! The nature of VR as the medium for this version of the game breathes a whole new life into The 7th Guest that probably wouldn't have been possible otherwise, giving a player the ability to actively roam and explore the haunted grounds of Stauf Manor in ways the original couldn't allow! While the overall story from the original is largely unchanged, the means for uncovering that story and the mystery it holds is presented in the venue in entirely new (if familiar if you've played the original) puzzles that help to breath that new life into the old game that I was talking about! After all is said and done, this version of The 7th Guest is way... WAY too cool to not play if you have the ability to do so!

Get this one! From the engaging puzzles, spooky vibes, and general camp that still exists from the original game, the VR remake of The 7th Guest will not disappoint!
