Weapon or misc?
I would like to see this one as a weapon for medieval mode, you know, like Soldier-kinght or something, perhaps making him run faster and add some crit resistance in exchange for the rocket launcher. Misc wouldnt be so bad either, you could wear it with the Kabuto and the Menpo and have the perfect soldierai.

I also think it'd be great as a weapon, similar to the Gunboats, or the Bootlegger.

I don't know... it has so much potential as a weapon. I've always wanted a full melee Soldier type.

Weapon:
Fits in Primary Slot, right click raises your hand to reduce incomming melee damage, but prevents you from attacking; it has no effect on ranged attacks. You take full melee damage from other Zatoichi's whilst your arm is raised, but you won't be instant killed.

I think something more like the Splendid Screen, but instead of giving charge, gives a speed boost (So that the soldier can be as fast as a pyro) and a little damage resistance like meele and fire.

I'd prefer it to be a misc as I'd love to see people wear it without the limitations of good/bad stats, and just wear stuff they like.

Aye that be true. Switching subject dear Ayes, are you still in the modelling business? I have plenty of ideas that I can give to you, for free if you want. Add if you wish mate, and I sincerelly hope Valve add this soon!

I'd prefer this being a misc, since I'm a shotgun user and doubt that Soldier needs another secondary.

either-or, really, but haveing a melee soldier wep like a shield is a good idea. maybe try to model one? like a knight's armor maybe? just an idea

I'm just saying that this could be an amazing wep for a full melee soldier, but what Ayes said its true, it would be more succesful as a misc rather than a weapon in terms of sales.
