Critique of Leslie's core character build
Just wanted to start to weigh in on initial character build criticism of some of the Companions you encounter. The most glaring error in build, to this point (as I am still new to PoP but many hours in M&B:W) is companion Leslie's build. She comes with 3x Horse Archery, but zero in both Power Draw and Power Throw. This really makes no sense, as the Horse Archery skill implies that you have an underlying Ranged Weapons skill (which can be Crossbow without a Power Draw/Throw, I realize, but with limitations on mounted use and in general Crossbow has never been considered a Mounted skill in history, due to the leverage required to reload a typical medieval crossbow with your feet).

I just think that Leslie should be tweaked into either a point or 2 in either Power Draw or Power Throw in trade for 1-2 points of the Horse Archery, which would provide a more logical base character start point in contrast to the current "Leslie" we have now.

Leslie is 100% your trade companion. Give her a crossbow, stick here in the archer line and forget her. She starts with i think 5 or 6 trade. No reason to use her for anything else besides maybe surgery. Later on in the game you can throw some strength in there for higher gear but thats about it.

I agree as I normally make Ground Troop Crossbowmen of Companions in the Native/unmodded game as default crossbow builds, unless they're already in a flavor base build (such as turning Native's Klethi into a Thrown/1H/Shield super-Huscarl build as example). While I would trend toward Leslie as a Crossbow also, my point was that the initial build by the Mod Dev's doesn't make sense in terms of specialties at initial presentation, because it implies she is an expert not only in Ranged but on Horseback. Gaining proficiency with any ranged skill on Horseback implies you are already toward an expert when not mounted, but there's no underlying Thrown Weapons (Power Throw) or Bow (Power Draw) to back that up. It's just a mismatch in the build if I were to critique this one more than all others as to how Leslie looks upon gaining her as a Companion to the Party. I wouldn't have built her with more Horse Archery than an underlying Power Throw/Draw at the same level (i.e. no more then 1 Horse Archery if Power Throw/Draw is also 1). Like I said, I would recommend her build is reduced in Horse Archery in trade for either Power Draw or Power Throw being raised. At least then you have more initial build options that have more capabilities as a Leslie in this altered build could go a Bow or Thrown (depending which could get buffed) or Crossbow, rather than doing as we both agree - to isolate to Crossbow only, since there's no starting pathway for Bow or Thrown as-is.

I am no expert, but I figured that the personal character needs leadership badly, and, if I plan to invest into charisma, I might as well go invest into trade along with prisoner management, making Leslie redundant in that sense, so I level up her Intelligence instead, because there are so many party intelligence skills, while charisma has a lot of leader charisma skills.

In my current permadeath playthrough on my Twitch, I built her as her trader. the biggest mistake people make is making her into a combat companion. Pump her charisma to 30 anmd then give her a maiden crossbow. 10 Trading is a world of difference in the late game economy.
