[bug] CKO arquebusier not firing
So I made the knights arquebus users. Ammo and no horses. And they fire sometimes once. They spend almost the entire fight on their shield/1handed instead. Even when the enemy is far away.
It might be related to increasing their proficiency (improving my knight, paying money and stuff) ?

I know the arquebus works, they use it once or twice.

I also noticed they use it once, start reloading and immediately switch to their shield. If I spam "fire at will" (f3-f2), they switch on their gun and shoot if it's reloaded, then switch back.


I didn't have the issue when it was the sergeant being arquebus users. I decided to switch to knight using the arquebus, and it seems it broke it, somehow. Perhaps it was switching them (they used to be regular cav).

Edit : I tested by giving the arquebus back to the sergeant, removing the horse, and they have the same bug.
Edit 2 : barclay arquebusier works fine
Edit 3 : same issue with any range weapons. Crossbows or bows.

I may add more infos.

-I made a CKO with sergeants using the mace/noldor shield, and arquebus/bullet. Knights where the same but with a spear and a thrown weapon instead for weapons, and a mount.
-It was working fine, nothing to mention. They where shooting and everything.
-Recently, I decided to swap their role, essentially. I gave the mount, spear and thrown to the sergeant, and the arquebus/bullet to the knights.
-I upgraded the knigths (3times I think ?)
-I changed their name (since it was no longer reflecting their new role)

Then I made a new war, and noticed the issue. So, something happened somewhere that made them bug.

There was a bug in the initial version of the mod when once issued order "prefer blunt weapon" was preserved to the end of the game.
Ranged soldiers with blunt and long range weapons switch to melee after 3 secs.
It was resolved, Steam version was updated. But it seems Steam somehow missed your PC, that is why unsub and resub to pick up the latest version.

Oh, I think that's this bug, ask them to go blunt by mistake. I remember because they stopped firing and it was a mess (I missclicked because I was myself in a tough fight). I missed the hotfix because I always had an issue with steam, where I need to copy/paste the mod in the module folder of warband, for some reason, otherwise I can't launch them.

I'll try to fix that, thanks !

Versions on both Nexus and ModDB has this hotfix included, in case you prefer manual installation. Good luck.

Thanks, it worked. I told them to "use all weapons" and "fire at will", after using the "new" files, and they are know the murder machine they used to be.

It is actually quite funny situation. Steam updates mods automatically, even if user doesn't want to, e.g. doing long playthrought and new patch is not savegame compatible.
And you, who want update with hotfix, doesn't get it at all.

I hate guns in this world. I hope you remove them if there is ever a Bannerlord version.
