Well, I don't exactly have much of an idea for the story. So if you have some suggestions, I'll gladly see if I can add them.

I like your idea for the draconis personality, and I like the second origin story. However, I want to tweak it slightly. Their origin will still be a mystery, but how they got to our universe will be loosely based on quantum mechanics. They came from a seperate universe/timeline where classical mechanics and laws are differents from our mechanics. (ie the speed of light is greater than or less than 299,792,458 m / s) Through their arrogance and lust for power, the Draconis created a machine that unintentionally caused a fluctuation in the quantum state of the particles that compose their planet. Now they are angry, and most are still hungry for power. So in theory, they popped into existence out of no where, but with the power of science.

But for the encounters between starbound races and draconis, I really like your idea.

Oh, could I get some dialogue? Like apex/avian/hylotl/ect 's reaction to a draconis player. That would very much be helpful.

I like the gate idea actually. And as for the reactions, they should be about a sentence long, maybe two short sentences. You could post them in this thread, or message me on steam.

pretty cool, i think that i would love for the author to add those, but i think some other powerful modded races should treat the draconis as equals. but it's not like i have any say.

As far as I'm aware, Draconis is the only decently made race that has a powerful character to it. The only other race that is well made, that has a story of being powerful are Nightar. Sadly that mod was abandoned, so unless it's picked up that's not gonna happen. Also as far as I know, reactions from modded races can't be set by another mod, so it'd be up to the creator of those races to add reactions, but I could be mistaken.

I'm actually working on one of the story point. It may take a while to finish it, but it will hopefully be worth it. All I will say is that it is going to be somewhat like the ark.

Maybe there could be multiple factions of Draconis. Like some have a lust for power and domince over everyone else, while others could be scribes who wish to record the universe's knowledge, ect... But they all came to our universe when many were escaping theirs, because their universe was ending and they needed to jump to the nearest universe. The reason why it was ending was the power seekers I mentioned before wound up destablizing their entire universe, so the Draconis who weren't seeking power built a grate Noah's Ark- type ship, but the power seekers flew close enough to the ark that they came too.
And they evolved from wyverns, to cover their evolution.

Is this the meat-metal hearts and flesh thing titled "...." on the teleporter?
If so, it takes the place of the "current planet" option, which is rather problematic, as that's pretty central to gameplay.

I must say, however, that having a completely new story arc for this race would be amazing, and I'm looking foreward to getting to play through it!

Could base game intro/tutorial be kept with the backstory of the character being one of the first group of Draconis to be permitted to join the Terran Protectorate?

They are in the code, but for whatever reason, starbound npcs won't read it. Weird, but the same thing happens in the Avali mod.

A little off topic here. What would be plural form for Draconis? Part of me wants to say it's Draconi.

I ask because I'm trying to create a backstory for my draconis and I don't want to fk anything up.
