Repair Types
All of the Different Types of Repairing:
  • Hammers can repair most tools, weapons, armors (all including modded ones), and even tents at the cost of one of the target item's crafting materials (which is pre-determined by the mod or customdata.lua when the world loads). The amount repaired is normally based on how many of the designated repair item is needed to craft the target item, but can also be customized in customdata.lua. The hammer will not repair anything else that have its own way of being repaired (included but not limited to magic items and sewing kits).

    By default, repairing 100% of an item's durability will decrease the hammer's durability by 6.66%, meaning you can fully repair 15 items with a brand new hammer until it would break, but this number can be changed in the in-game config.

  • Nightmare fuel can be used directly with magical jewelery or magic/shadowy-like gear to repair its durability at the cost of sanity. The amount repaired roughly follows the same rules as the hammer just in terms of nightmare fuel rather than a repair item. By default it costs 10 sanity per repair, but that amount can be set in the config (as well as the option to add a health cost on top of it)

  • Silk can be used to refill sewing kits. Each silk only refills 12.5% (1/8 since it takes 8 silk to craft) unless you're Winona where she can refill a full 20% (to match her tape’s crafting recipe)

  • Tinder-like items can be used to refuel torches. These items include: grass, twigs, petals, foliage, feathers, and tar (DS). If you have a torch equipped, you can right-click the tinder item in your inventory and it’ll automatically apply the fuel to the torch.

  • Manure and manure-like items can refill buckets’o’poop. Manure and glommer goop restores 3 uses, guano 4.5 uses, and rot 0.5 uses.

  • Nitre can be used to replenish semi-depleted salt licks. A single nitre will replenish 30 uses (25%) of a salt lick's durability. The option to refill a salt lick will appear after its durability has been depleted at least 20% (when it first change's its sprite)

  • *NEW* Batteries can be used to recharge electrical-like items. These items include: miner hat, lantern, morning star, moggles, etc. A single battery will restore 6 minutes of time or up to 5 uses. WX-78 can now also eat a battery to gain a single circuitry charge (DST only).

  • *NEW* WX-78's Circuitry can now be repaired when WX-78 uses his circuit extractor on a circuit while it's in his inventory. The repair cost by default is 1 bio data and 1 gold nugget, but you can toggle whether you need a bio data in the mod config. Restores 50% durability (2 uses).

  • *DS Only* Boards can be used to refill 1 use of a boat repair kit. There’s also a setting in the config to allow the boat repair kit to use boards out of a boat or player’s inventory before using its own durability. (You must be in the boat for it to use boards from the boat’s inventory)

  • *DS Only* Coconuts can be used to reload some ammo in to a boat cannon. Reloads 3 shots per coconut
