SetSoldierStat command not working

Is there any way to get the SetSoldierStat command to work with alien soldiers?
The console recognises the command with the unit's name but their stats don't actually change.

Try "GrimySetCharacterStat ECharStatType eStat float NewStat string UnitName" from Grimy's console comands mod
