1.) you could google it.
2.) I'm nice so here's a link to a guide I found. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=628124441 <turns out all the links are broken don't use this guide>
(p.s. I assume you're fairly young so I'm going to crush your dreams here- your skin won't get in. I'm 99% sure of it)

What I might say could confuse you even more but dont be afraid just find tutorials online, learning 3d modeling software will help a lot as you can get a fairly deep inside into texture creation! Dont scare the guy it is not that difficult. You just extract a texture for a particular gun(there are many tuorials which show how easily it can be done)...Its UV layout(which means that all its color is placed on a 2d image of a particular size...They normally have dimensions of 240x240 480x480....and so on. To the power of two. They can actually be not to the power of two(squared)(but that in many instances isnt very productive) but all Unturned once are...Anyways thats how most 3d models are colored. You layout a 3d model on a 2d plane and then color it) Once you got the texture it will look weird to you at first but you will be able to paint on it. You can use this texture to paint colors onto it(the way the gun will look). You can get another copy of it and make a grayscale image (black-gray-white) to signify its emission map(glowiness! where u paint black the glowiness is high. White is 0. Shades of gray represent varying glowiness) There are actually a lot over things you can paint on a UV map but the most significant ones for Unturned are Emission map and Color map.

It might have sounded confusing and stuff. But here is what u need to know to get rid of confusion:

  • Patience
  • Learn a 3d software(Like Blender, it is free and powerful)(you need to grasp 3d modeling and texture painting(u dont need stuff like animation, rigging or anything else)(The Hardest Way but the best one)(NOT ESSENTIAL BUT I ADVICE YOU DO!)
  • Learn Photoshop! An extremely useful skill(Download a pirate version of it ;)) or you can learn Gimp(free), Paint.NET(free) or whatever. I prefer photoshop but if you do want it like I do, dont pay for it! ;) There are addons for photshop like Substance Painter(costs a lot but is very powerful once u get a hang of it)
  • Learn how to do it in Unturned! Once u learn Photoshop(or whatever else) and optionally Blender you can get into leaning how to make custom textures for Unturned...There are a bunch of easy to follow tutorials online and having basic skills of blender and phostoshop will help a lot in understanding what is going on!)

After all it is just painting a 2d texture!(YOU CAN ACTUALLY PAINT IT IN 3D!!! AND THE STUFF YOU PAINT WILL SAVE ON THE 2D IMAGE! JUST GOOGLE HOW TO DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT IN BOTH BLENDER AND PHOSTOSHOP...YOU WILL JUST NEED TO GRAB THE 3D MODEL OF THE GUN(or something else) FROM UNTURNED)

Dont forget it is just painting a 2d image! On this same image you can paint its diffuse map(basic color!), emission map(grayscale)(glowiness), metallic map(grayscale)(metalic look, like shininess of metal), roughness map(grayscale)(how rough it looks), bump map(grayscale)(create "bumps in the image. Black means a deep bump. White means no bump). Normal map(not grayscale!)(It is just like the bump map...Just more advanced! You can look it up online if you want. I suck at explaining...Will just confuse you)

Then you get those textures you painted. Normally for unturned to make a good gun it can be a diffuse and emission map!(I believe in this skin only 2 of these were used. You just need to be experienced with photoshop to make what they did). You get those 2 textures upload them. Make a screenshot of the gun(if you learn blender you can make it look fantastic if you dont just google it) And then you got it on workshop. You will just need to provide billing information I believe...To get profit if the skin is sold...Just provide fake info if you dont care(like me, although I dont really make skins)

Thats it. I know. The guide is ♥♥♥♥. And I dunno why I even wrote it. Anyways. Ask if u got questions or need advice on something...Screw me I bet no one is gonna read it!
