I think the animation engine currently used has fewer support for linux, so it's not in consideration for now. I'll try when I have time to setup a linux vm.
Can WallpaperEngine run on Linux?

Well... There's a pretty interesting project for the implementation of the engine under linux. https://github.com/Almamu/linux-wallpaperengine If we talk about wine, writes "Desktop composition is disabled."

Yes, it turned out to run wallpaper for WallpaperEngine. The project with github works! But not for your wallpaper...

Unfortunately the project you pointed out is a project to support WE scene wallpapers, not application wallpapers, so it won't work with our wallpapers.

Your application wallpapers works quite well without WallpaperEngine, running it on the vm I got an acceptable result, it remains to run the application itself under the linux environment. Wine can not provide the connection with the desktop, you need to run without exe.

Wine + exe: Won't "provide the connection with the desktop"
Linux build: "the animation engine currently used has fewer (in fact, no) support for linux"

So that's how it is... Wallpaper like on Unity, or there is used something else?

That has nothing to do with "the (character) animation engine currently used".
You can simply take a research on (or ask them directly if you can) why nekoworks does (can) not make a Linux port for their games. You'll finally reach that SDK page, and realize that there is no SDK provided for Linux.
The only approach is using WebGL, but that will bring other compatibility issues unless we make a "lite" version - not planned for now.

So my final answer for your question is: This wallpaper is unable to port to Linux for now.
If you still want to try, you may use Wine and try to "provide the connection with the desktop" by some way.

Thank you, delving into the problem came up on the other hand, the result is obtained through wine, everything works.

If you managed to run this as wallpaper using Wine, would you like to share your approach here, or maybe your blog or somewhere else?

Of course! Wine-staging 4.11-1, winetricks -> d3dx11_43, dotnet 4.8, dxvk 1.2.2, vcrun6. Emulate the desktop in the wine settings your native resolution, run the Wallpaper application as a standalone application, full screen, and change the properties of the opened window to "Maintain in the background".

Yes, "provide the connection with the desktop" didn't work, but I don't use desktop icons. And since the Wallpaper is running as an application, they can be minimized, the open tab with the application looks a little unsightly, but the result is magnificent.

Thank you for sharing this, I will add a link about this in FAQ.
