The real fun here should come from timed leaderboards like Dribbling Challenge. If people go slower by bumping into walls, that's their problem. The constant resets from just a minor slight tap itno a wall is just too frustrating to enjoy this or make this competitive.
Learn how to not fly into the walls? Seems like a good fix to me.... Also, it is your car's hitbox that will reset you when it touches the wall. So learn your car's hitbox and get better at controlling your vehicle in the air. (Sorry if this came across slightly nasty). But removing the reset thing would remove half the challenge.
Thank you! My complaints aren't idle thoughtless young children drivel like some of these responses. I have almost 2,000 hours in this game and I've played both obstacle courses (and the dribbling challenge and other workshop maps) heavily before coming here to comment.
Please don't make walls reset you
This map would be incredibly more fun if touching the walls didn't reset you. It's super frustrating and annoying when the game keeps resetting you because you just BARELY touched a wall that you can't see very well because the camera didn't want to cooperate.
Your other map, The Wall, has walls that do not reset you and it is still a difficult challenge. Just flying into a wall will knock you off course -- but if you're able to freestyle a recovery, I think you ought to be allowed to.

No, dude, it's still challenging because bumping a wall will knock you wildly off course. The camera is the main thing that actually causes a "challenge" because of how it always blocks your view.

I have not played any of these obstacle courses, but I have seen many people play them, and after reading the opinions in this thread, I agree with Fall Upon Stars. The camera seems to be a major issue when it won't coopoerate, and I think that if people can freestyle a recovery after hitting a wall it would make it even more impressive. I know it may seem like Stars is making excuses at first, but I really don't think you can just dismiss his complaint by saying, "lol git gud m8" or "lol ur bad" or "u m3an y0u don't want a chall3nge m9". Here's what I think French Fries should do: Make a seperate gamemode with the same map where hitting the walls doesn't reset you. Then the noob-callers can play both and see which is really harder.

Yup. Learned that right away during the section where you have to do a kind of Immelmann half S flip near the end of the 1st level of Obstacle Course 1. Good tip. But there are still large sections where the camera gets obscured by walls while you're still learning the maps. After you learn the maps, you don't really rely so much on the camera as you do on map memory and muscle memory. And some of us don't use the stock camera settings, which can further complicate things.
with these obstacle courses, the weird car positions combined with weird camera angles make for fun situations. i probably have it easier than (half?) because of my close-up camera angle.. I can only imagine the walls being much more troublesome for those with distant settings. also, a while back I did a little 'freestyle' training for good sideways/backwards control; idk if you dabbled in that stuff but I think it's useful.
I made a video in this map :)
