Lag When Viewing Engrams.
I am aware due to the massive list of new Engrams, it can cause a lag, which is why I am wanting to do something about it, if I can learn how to make the engrams have their own section, etc, or some other fix ideal would be appreciated.

From my testing, it seems that this ridiculous engram screen lag is not necessarily due to the large amount of engrams added, but the way in which the new Engram UI organizes the engrams. ARK is not meant to have engrams up to such a high level and therefore it is being forced to create many more "sections" or "breaks" in the engram screen to accommodate for this mod. I plan on doing some testing tomorrow to try reorganizing the engrams myself by editing their required levels. If this works I will post my results here as well as the overrides and leveling configs used to fix this issue. I use a very crappy old laptop to play, and the engram screen causes enough strain on my machine that I occasionally crash. Luckily none of the players on my server have as bad of a computer as I do, so none of them have complained of crashing, but even the high end players have the immense lag.

Hello, I learned awhile back it also has something to do with server host/types, try it on single player and it should not lag at all as a test. Sorry I have not worked on this mod since December last year, I am surprised people still use it. Thanks though for trying.

I tried sending this in a private message. But please do not abandon this mod. I know mod development is difficult, especially with one of this size. And I know that it's hard to please everyone, and sometimes impossible.

But I started using this mod on my server a couple weeks ago, and my players are in love with it. Some joined simply because I have it working on my server, knowing they have to deal with the lag. We change up our setup when things get stale and this time around we are doing a Medieval Scorched Earth, with AvatARK bending for magic. You're mod, aside from the engram lag, is perfect for our current setup.

If you do decide to give up on this mod, please find someone who would be willing to take over it's development or maybe even partner up with you to give support. If you want you can send me a friend request and I can get you into the ARK Modding Community on Discord. I'm sure you could find someone there. This is an amazing mod and I believe some adjustments to accomodate for the ARK updates could resurrect it.

Yes, especially since it was my first mod and I had no ideal what I was doing, so had to learn from tutorials and failures, many failures, in attempt to fix one thing 20 would break, or to fix something a experienced modder could do in less then 1 hour would consume my entire day off work. It was nice to know people appreciated it but at the same time it received negative ratings with no explaination, and it became way to much hassle to keep trying after that. I am glad and yet surprised there are people out there that continue to use and even enjoy this mod after all thse months without me touching it. I did want to give the mod to someone way more experienced, I did not know how, and also my HD it was on is gone, so there is no way to unless they would know how.... Thanks again, there is ways to somewhat deal with the engram lag also, it could be a nuisance but better then getting 1 fps while viewing them, when viewing engrams there should be a box that you can uncheck engrams from SE or Vanilla ark, if wanting to just view engrams from mods, check them boxes. Not sure if that works anymore havent tried in awhile but it is what I used to do if I wasnt messing around on single player or non linux hosted server, etc. Also, from what one person said before, upgrade bench mod can easily replace mine with 1 smithy basically...

I'm sorry to hear that. If I get into ARK modding do I have your permission to try recreating this mod or at least using it as a reference?

Go ahead, perhaps you will do way better then I did, I tried to make it either RPG or medieval, kinda wanted both but didnt have what it takes. Did you test it on single player and see there is no engram lag at all? It has something to do with certain server host I was told along time ago.

I have not tested in single player. But I will give it a shot. I heard that it was due to the leveling with the new Engram UI sorting. But I read that you tested it with lower levels didn't you?

Yes, I tried many things, what I was going to do is instead of having individual engrams per armor piece, make a set as one engram but I could not figure out how to do that either. That would have cut the engram list in half, removing the fps issue with certain hosted servers.
