Frequently Asked Questions
This is by no means complete, but it is being posted to answer questions that many have been asking.

1. What do you plan to do in the future?
-Changing up procursor events to Forerunner/Procursor related ones and changing the crisis events to one or more Halo related ones.
-Put in higher quality Habitat models for the UNSC and Covenant

2. Do you plan to make a compatibility patch for Downscaled Ships?
-No, not at this time.

3. Do you plan on adding Halo based/inspired weaponry?
-No, not at this time.

4. Is there a way to force the Covenant, UNSC, and/or X included empire to spawn?
-Yes, to force any premade empire we have made to spawn, create a custom empire based on that specific one, and set that new empire to always spawn.

5. Can you add X additional ship model to Y ship class?
-No

6. Does this mod do any sort of gameplay or balance changes?
-No

7. Is this mod stable for multiplayer?
-Yes

8. Can you make a ships only version of this mod?
-The species do not spawn in the game unless set up to force spawn. As such, there is no need to make a separate mod.

9. I don't see the Covenant, UNSC, and/or X included empire spawn in my games, is this a bug?
-This is intentional behavior, however it is easily changed. See question #4 to force spawn any of the included empires.

10. Will you add turrets to UNSC ships?
-No plans for turrets; currently weapon effects come out of the ships' missile pods. Admittedly this is optimal for missile weapons, versus lasers, but these models are not well suited for traditional turrets, given the type, and amount of them, that Stellaris requires.

11. Why are the UNSC portraits blank?
-The UNSC portraits can be found under the Humanoids section. Due to hardcoding, a portrait set must exist for every ship set, even if the former is left empty.

That Flood mechanic, while a really cool idea, is not feasible in Stellaris unfortunately. Either it is simply not possible due to hardcoding or it requires far too much work to be viably made and maintained.

Do you plan to copy or mimic the mechanics from "The Great Journey" mod but better? The developer seems to not care about updating it as much anymore, or fixing major glitches related to graphics mod compatibility or THEIR SHIP PACKS overlapping with yours, and that last one seems to be intentional in my opinion...

With the 1.8 update/synthetic dawn have you considered doing something related to the promethean knights? (they are humans turned into ai, sort of fits the dlc theme)

You plan on getting SOTP music into Stellaris? I did it for personal use (as in private mod that isn't uploaded), but just curious if you intend to actually release that as a mod or something? I get Waseem would have to sign off on it, plus if he doesn't like the terms of steam workshop, then no way it would happen... Hm.

The Strident is a post-war UNSC ship and thus would not fit in with this war-time era ship pack. That said, changes are done based on the Sins mod being updated, such as when the old Marathon model was replaced by our new one, and so forth. I don't envision us adding in more ships simply as what more is there to add?
The Strident-class heavy frigate entered service in the UNSC Navy in October 2552. They served during the Prophet of Regrets invasion of Earth. Therefore I would say that they are a wartime ship.
That said, on the topic of frigate/corvettes, Could we get some alternate UNSC frigates based on loadout?Say, the Stalwart-class light frigate for PD boats, and the Charon-class light frigate for Torpedo Boats?

The Stridents weren't in notably active service in the war era; having a small handful of ships done does not make them a war time ship. Them being around in the war is a nice retcon in and of itself.

As for alternatives, no we will not be doing that.

I don't know if this was asked before. But are you guys planning on switching up the ships a bit? For example will you replace the corvette with a UNSC corvette? Or would you rather try doing what the Star Wars mods do and make it so we can pick and choose various models?

For example if we go to make a corvette, instead of getting a random UNSC frigate or the new UNSC corvette, we can choose and each ship has its unique benefits and all that.

See Answer above your question.... specifically the last sentence.

what about weaposn like MAC guns and Archer missiles?
Lathium Feb 25, 2018 @ 7:52pm
Heya Lavo. Is there any particular reason why you guys won't go with Downscaled ships Compatibility, or is it simply a case of 'if someone else does it, sweet'?
Lavo  [developer] Feb 26, 2018 @ 5:22am
It's a two factored problem. 1) The amount of compatibility patches we have means that we would have to put out the same amount of downscaled ship versions, making maintenence a nightmare. 2) A number of our exhaust points are not in the actual meshes but instead are written into the assets.

#1 will actually be fixed thanks to 2.0 as I will be condensing all of the compatibility patches, save NSC, into the main version under the "2.0 breaks saves and so shall we" bit. #2 will be worked on in the not so distant future. Once all of that is done, then we will be able to put together a downscaled ships version without too much difficulty, but only then.

Do you guys plan to add the NOVA Bomb as the planet killer for the UNSC?
Rudeus (Deceased) Apr 10, 2018 @ 2:44pm
When do you guys plan on making this mod like the SOASE mod? Events, galaxies, etc, etc? Or is that not even on the board?

what about add spartan clothing for ruler and admiral models
Lavo  [developer] Jun 20, 2018 @ 2:34pm
