An Announcement
Guys. Wow.

It's been nearly two years to the day since I first released the Battle Rifle Pack, and I can't believe the amount of enthusiasm and support and even just random conversations that still spring up two years later.

I created the Battle Rifle Pack because I really enjoyed the LW SMG pack and Timer's (then defunct) DMR mod and thought that the game could really use a weapon to fill in the gap between assault rifles and sniper rifles.

I was studying computer science and mathematics (now graduated) so I applied what I was learning in school and spent hours and hours testing, tweaking and refining to create what I felt was a fair and interesting weapon suite. Some things didn't go over too well (the -15 aim for Marksman Rifle was lost in translation, for instance, even though it was a necessary tweak for balancing it against the sniper rifle), but overall I'm extremely proud of what I was able to accomplish.

I always had bigger plans for the mod, and I'm extremely sorry that I let the community down by not being able to deliver. I kind of disappeared, only mentioning that I was finishing up school and dealing with some personal health problems, but today I wanted to be a bit more verbose.

Ever since I was young I knew that something wasn't quite right with me, but I grew up in a community where ailments were perceived as demons and mental problems were dismissed as Satanic possessions. It sounds almost comical, but that was my life growing up.

In 2016, at the age of 32, I was finally diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I was able to afford treatment for a while, thanks to some benefits included as part of my university tuition, but once I graduated later that year those benefits went away. Over the past two years, my condition has continued to degrade. I lost my home and due to my anxiety I am unable to work full-time.

Paradoxically, although my anxiety has given me a lot of free time, my depression prevents me from pursuing my passions. I have a lot of unfinished projects and even still a list of Xcom 2 mods I would love to do.

I hope I am able to get back to it one day, but today I just wanted to finally let everyone know what was going on.

I never thought the Battle Rifle Pack would become this influential. Thank you all for everything.

Your personal and mental health of course takes priority, we've all waited this long, we can wait longer still. Take care of yourself first and come back to us when your ready. Much love for what you have done for us and giving us an update on what's going on.
