Trade Ships with leaders
To better help me figure out what is the deal with this bug could anyone who has experienced post details about their game and empire?

So everything from civics to planet type if you can.

In my testing games I never experienced this and have only been able to replicate it with other people save files.

Kyojin, I only have limited experience with trying it out in the post-1.5 version. One game so far, heavily modded with the usual suspects of nsc, rs, ds, isb but also with pre-ftl. It appears to be scientists but they are not "real" as my leader pool never changes. I am using an earth based culture with the civics of beacon of liberty and free haven. Xenophile, materialist, egalitarian.

I am having this bug, heavily modded. Playing Earth-based Humanoid species. Egalitarian, Pacifist, Materialist. Civics are Idealistic Foundation and Parllamentary System.

I have experienced the bug. The "leader" who died was the designated heir. Once they died a new heir was chosen and appeared with different stats. That heir then spawned as the "commander" on a trade ship and died when that ship despawned as well.

Can you give me the details on your empire and game?
Forvet Apr 20, 2017 @ 3:22am
Yes this is happened, I got this message "xxx leader died when xxx ship was destroyed" I spent the next five minutes trying to figure out which of my ships was destroyed.

ALSO! Is there any way to get rid of all the civilian trade ships flooding my "Civilian ships" panel? I have 4 civilian ships that I built, and 12 civilian ships swooping around and it's annoying to search for the ships I actually care about.

@Forvet I need the details of your empire and game like I said in the OP.

Not sure if this will help you but here we go:
Running a fairly clean post 1.5 - as in ONLY your mod running.

Custom empire - mamalian, imperial gov, (the energy perk +15% - forgot the name).

What I can tell you is that these factors seem not to matter as it happens in all my games when I choose different:
1. planet types
2. gov type
3. ship type

This "bug" happens as the ship is despawned after docking. The NPC leaders that are dying for me are NOT in my pool of leaders... in fact it doesn;t even register the ship name just ISS...

Item of Note:
I do have the mod star trek horizons but it is not enabled.

I'm open to try some different combinations that you can think of as I enjoy your mod and want it working smoothly again. :steamsad:

I just started getting this issue too. Can provide my save file if needed.

Any other details needed?

I'm getting this bug, every now and then whenever a trade ship docks it will give me the message "Governor XXX died when the LUS was destroyed." LUS is the prefix of all my ships, Lombax United Ship. None of the "governors" that die are in my leader pool and it never gives an actual ship name.

Just had this bug happen in an unusual way last night; I hired a curator scientist and assigned him to do research for me. Almost immediately after that he took command of a trade ship (which I did not tell him to do) and died when that ship docked. I hired a 2nd curator scientist and he tried to take command of another trade ship but I caught before he did and put him back in research.

I've had the usual bug where it kills of "fake" scientists and admirals too but that doesn't actually effect gameplay so much as be annoying.

Some Empire stats that might help:

Government: Democracy
Ethics: Materialist/Militarist/Eglatarian
Civics: Citizen Service, Efficient Bureauracy, Technocracy
46 planets, 5 sectors.

Too many mods to list; but I do have NSC and most of the more popular mods.

Hey Author, I took a look the mod event file, I think adding "kill_leader" with "show_notification = no" in civtrade.2, civtrade.7, and civtrade.66 before the mod delete the ship can solve this bug.

Unfortunately it does not. The problem seems to be that the leaders that are spawning are sometimes not registered as real leaders. Also the show notification = no doesn't seem to actually work.
