The primary purpose of this list is to have an all-in-one "to do" list along with my thoughts & possible timelines. Feel free to skip this & go to "Suggestions" if you have a new idea or don't want to read through this, I will not hold it against you if your idea is already here.

1st post includes current WiPs.

-Hotfixes


Include the 1836 End Date Mod
-The author, witchveil, has kindly granted permission for me to include this neat little mod that extends the end date to the Victoria start date. As soon as I get around to it, I will likely include it. The only thing stopping me is the concern that everyone already uses an end date extending mod.

Later Note: It sounds like with the new feature to continue playing, Witchveil is going to take the mod into a more 1821-1836 content direction. I'm watching it and I may ask for permission to use this content, too.
Timeline: Soon, probably.


New Tech Groups in North America
-I'd like to see 3 tech groups in North America, more or less divided into East, West, & North (Or Maybe Algic, Pacific, & Dene?). The main reason for this is exploration, but it might also create an interesting dynamic for the transfer of technology in North America as colonists arrive. If I could obtain the services of a good graphics editor, I could also add in new units for the various tech groups. All this would need to be tested.

Better Migration
-I like the migration mechanic for native nations in North America, but I would like to find some way to control this migration and limit it to the same area. Shoshone in California is great, in Oregon is fine, In Washington is okay, but the Shoshone nation located in the rainforests of SE Alaska is a bit awkward.

Proper, Non-Generic Ideas for Colonial Nations
-Some custom ideas for the Thirteen Colonies, Canada, Rupert's Land etc. I assume it is easy to program this in, but I haven't actually looked into it.

Adjust Native Size & Hostillity, How Development is Calculated
-Eventually I will probably tweak the numbers in how colonisation works. Large native pops giving more production etc.

Events to Establish Historical Colonial Capitals
-Rather than have ahistoric centres of trade, several insane dev #s, and massively overpowered provinces in North America in "preparation" for the coming Europeans who will make them into their colonial capitals, I'd like to see historical numbers with with a half-dozen to a dozen events (or decisions) for the traditional capitals that grant a centre of trade modifier, change the capital name, and give +3 to +5 dev, perhaps at the cost of losing a pre-colonial centre of trade modifier or maybe some cash & M points?

New Nations in North America
-North America is looking a bit empty. I plan on adding some new nations in North America, complete with all the bells and whistles that normally accompanies new nations. This will likely follow more map work, however.

More Trees in Europe
-It has been suggested that I add a few trees in Europe, which I agree might add something. I've already added a few, but when I have time I may add a few more.
Timeline: When I get around to it.


More Localised Naming
-Ideally at some point I'd like to have all areas covered by Beyond Typus have full localised naming for all plausible colonisers, but this requires both a linguistic capacity and creative flair that is for the most part beyond me. Nevertheless, I plan to keep adding historical and occasionally plausible alt-history localised naming for all regions I've covered, with perhaps some favouritism towards the half-dozen or so languages with which I am familiar enough to avoid bad grammar and/or eyesore calques.
Timeline: Is and will remain very much a work in progress.


Add Trade Winds Based on Real-World Data
-Self explanatory.
Timeline: Unknown. I encountered a small visual bug limited exclusively to trade winds, so I removed them prior to release. Once I track down the problem, and have time to research wind patterns, I may include this.


French & German Translations/Traductions en français et allemand/Ubersetzungen auf Französisch und Deustch
-I have genuinely no idea what the demand is for this, and as such don't want to waste my time if everyone just plays in English anyway, but as a long term goal I'd like to see Beyond Typus translated into French & German.
-Je ne sais vraiment pas s'il y a du monde qui en a envie, et ne veux pas perdre mon temp si tout le monde joue déjà en anglais, mais je voudrais finalement avoir des traductions pour ceux qui veulent jouer en français ou en allemand.
-Ich weiss eigentlich nicht wenn es jemand gibt der es will, und ich will auch nicht meine Zeit verschwenden wenn jeder schon auf Englisch spielt, aber ich möchte gern irgendwann eine Französische und eine Deutsche Übersetzung veröffentlichen können.

Scrapped Ideas

Historical Additions Lite's Borders for the Middle East
-The author does not want me using his work because he feels his other mod does the same thing as Beyond Typus, so I'm afraid this isn't going to happen.
Timeline: Never.


Including the 1356 Start Date from the Timeline Extension Mod
-This is my single most common suggestion. The truth is, I'd very much like to do it, but the number of conflicting files between 1356 and Beyond the Pale means that I would have to redo the compatibility patch essentially from scratch everytime either one is updated. The author has kindly granted permission to use his work, and maybe someday I'll reconsider, but for now, this idea is scrapped.

Later Note:
Now that HR has left EU4 modding (at least for now) and I'm directly involved in the updating process, I may reconsider. The primary reason I avoided this was it would be nightmarish to update seperate from BtP and HR wasn't interested in including this content, but it would not be considerably more work than a normal update alone. I am currently considering reconsidering this.

      Ideas in Limbo
      These are ideas that for one reason or another I not currently working on, but I'd like to have assembled in one place in case circumstances change or I reconsider.


      Compatibility with Rosetta
      -This sounds like quite an undertaking to do well, but I've not ruled it out.
      Timeline: Distant. Other much faster and much more substantial changes will likely come before overhauled localised naming, unless I'm inundated with requests for it.


      Norwegian cores on Iceland
      -Suggested by Skeletor Penetrator, it would indeed be historical for Norway to have cores on its ancient colony, but my concern has to do with what happens when Denmark gobbles up Iceland and suddenly Norway & Denmark, historical friends, are at odds over Iceland. I want to do some testing here/get more opinions before I decide on anything.


      New Provinces
      These are ideas I had/suggestions I received about new provinces in areas already finished by Beyond the Pale (Europe +) or Beyond Typus (North America & Remote Islands).

          Just because I like islands. Seriously, as far as I can tell from a cursory glance, it really was inseperable from Stralsund for the entire period, but in some Crusader King alternate history maybe it became a Swedish stronghold on the south Baltic coast?

        • Pretty much done with the north & west, and the south & east are not yet covered. Might see a new province or two in Cascadia someday, we'll see.

        • Not covered yet by either BtP or BT
