Actually, i know this from the game DotA 2. The item is literally a direct reference to the character Sven, whom the helmet is based opon.

I saw that, yes. I'm not sure where the original idea for the helmet came from, but I know it from that movie. I can't see to find an image of the soldiers in the movie, but they look extremely similar to Sven's helmet.
