I agree there is no way to counter it... and also agree that Primitive+ should not take it out.
I think Primitive+ should transform the Giga into a regular dino, a more powerfull Rex perhaps, but no more than 25% stronger.
I made this post right after The Center map was released as official. At that time, I was playing on a private server and there were two gigas. They destroyed several bases. The people on that server were not able to do anything against the giga at all. It just came in and wrecked everything in its path. I think that the devs have tweaked the danger on The Center map so that it is not as bad as it was.
I also play on The Island PVE Official Server 2 which is primitive plus. So far, I have not heard of or seen a giga on that server. I still am not sure what people could do to protect themselves again a giga if one should attack a base, though. We could try using the x plants, I guess, but it would take a lot of those if the giga were very high level.
I have helped kill and tame several gigas on servers that are not primitive plus, but it always took a lot of us with high powered guns and trancs to do it and we had metal walls to defend.
What about metal spikes? Last I checked you can easily have a giga kill itself on metal spikes (wild), and with gates you can just funnel them through a PSX storm.
Also aren't they affected by large bear traps? One large bear trap would give you enough time to drop a tamed or wild giga with enough firepower.
