USSR Lend-Lease Nation?
Hello Normad and players who use this really good mod.

I have one idea for new nation/division or something like that :D

As you know, USSR get big help from western Allies, they got tanks, airplanes, trucks, cars and even tractors or horses.

For this they got a lot of uniforms, helmets and small arms, so you can say that such help was not limited only to tanks and aircraft.
My idea is to introduce a separate nation or division for multiplayer exactly as in the case of the German SS. Nation would use the vehicles and weapons supplied from Lend-Lease.

There were many Red Army units that used only Allied equipment, for example the 8th Armored Corps of the Guards had about 200 M4A2 Shermans.
Of course, we already have in valour mod in such vehicles in the Soviet army, but still a little to the ideal they lack, I would see them in a separate nation.

I already have some initial proposals for tanks.

M3 Stuart (version A1 too), about 1,600 of them arrived to the USSR, were used on many fronts, in many units in 1942-1943, despite their poor opinion among Russian crews, it was successfully used, mainly due to the lack of available T-34 and KW-1. In the forces of the USSR, Stuart tanks were called M3L (lekky - light)

M3 Lee's first tanks of this type reached to the USSR at the end of 1941, and were successively used in 1942-1943, and just like M3 Stuart, they were not very popular, so those that survived after the Battle of Kursk were used on secondary sections front or sent to Manchuria. In the forces of the USSR they were called M3S (Sredny - medium)

And now Shermans, I will not focus on the ordinary M4A2 because he is already available.
But I would like to focus on M4A2 76 (w), unfortunately, but it is completely bugged and not realistic, as an expert on the Sherman tanks I have to say how to submit a proposal to Normad. That requires many corrections.
Firstly, I would change the hull for the one in M4A3 76 (w), the hulls of the A2 76 and A3 76 versions were literally the same, except of course the back part of the fuselage which was slightly longer downwards. However, this is a game, so I think the simplest solution would be to copy M4A3 76 and then repaint it in Russian colors.
(here you can see, its look the same as M4A3 76 )
http://www.o5m6.de/redarmy/m4a2_76mm.php

In addition, the current M4A2 76 does not work as it should, why?, So it does not work in the machine gun in the hull. That's why he needs a correction, it's best to replace it with the M4A3 76 model with the name changed to A2.

I think that all the vehicles I have mentioned, as well as those that are already in the game, require only changing skins, names, and assigning them to a new nation.

What do you think about it?

And i know, moding in MoW are really hard thing, so, if this be ,,mission impossible'' maybe you can rename and resking such of this vehicels?.

Please check that hull for M4A2 is differ than you shown (here[www.o5m6.de]):
https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/245855-the-m4-sherman-model-is-really-an-early-version-of-the-m4a3/

o5m6.de source has put M4A3 hull for M4A2 tank.

Rear side of M4A2 tank on the 'o5m6.de' picture is incorrect.

Thanks for the answers.

I am currently trying to create something like a campaign or a set of missions just for Soviet units using L-L equipment. And thanks to yesterday's correction for M4A2 76, I will try to create several missions based on the diary of Dmitri Loza, who commanded the Sherman Battalion.

As for the construction of the tank, I just wanted to emphasize that the current M4A2 76, uses the "ordinary" M4A2 hull, and as the M4A3 76 hull is very similar to the one actually used, the better solution in my opinion would be to copy the M4A3 76 and change its name. The difference between the hull A2 76 and A3 76 was only in the back of the hull. In addition, they do not differ too much.

As for this website, it is a very valuable source of information that the Red Army used.
