for the questions:
1.yep. alsmost every gun would be unique (awesome right?)
2. i'd love to edit the black areas but unfortunately this is not possible with this type of skin. i'd have to switch it to a diffrent type of skin but then it would lose the shinyness (is that a word?). or others important features.
Awwwww, that sucks, don't change it though it looks FABULOUS!!!!!!!
You wrote that the surface of the weapons where you can situate pattern-based skins is limited by Valve. Okay thats a real pity you can not change it.
But you could paint the other parts of the gun more black/dark grey for some contrast for example, so the rest of the Weapon doesn't stay default. Anyway, the other parts can also get some basic color with eventually some really simple pattern like points for example again.
Anyway, I hope you get my point!
Btw: I think an Ak47 Maple Hero would be great aswell!
Nice job, greetings from Germany. :)
THX error, yes I do get your point. But it is still the same that I cannot change the rest of the gun. As I stated before I would love to do so but there is no way. Valve determined the parts that get colored in this type of skin and there is no way for the creators to change the rest :( the default parts on the m4 will always stay default. You can simply check it out, just open the Workshop, switch to the m4, change the type to anodized multicolored and load an image file and it will always only be applied to the areas that are affected in my skin. The rest will stay default no matter what you do.
Only way to color them is to change the type of skin to e.g. customized paintjob but then I would lose all the information for different phong in the alpha channel and the skin would look like ♥♥♥♥♥ :/
