Crusader Kings II

Crusader Kings II

Crisis of the Confederation (LEGACY)
*SPOILERS* Two Questions
1. I have run across a trait called "The Living Armageddon" or something like that, and it appears as if it is the result for destroying earth. Has anyone gotten it before?

2. I have been playing COC for a while but I have never encountered the late game megathreat. Is it supposed to be the Hive Mind? What is it?

Thanks

1. Haven't yet, but you are correct.

2. A cyberneticist with enough cybernetics research in their capital can get an option to create the Hiver Implant. Anyone who gets it converts to the Hiver religion, gets -100 general opinion and +10000 Same Trait opinion, and begins getting additional education traits, goes insane, and randomly swaps personality traits. They can also forcibly implant prisoners and engage in a campaign to implant their demense. Also, the religion has unrestricted use of the Invasion Causus Belli.

Living Armageddon is a difficult trait to get. Essentially, in order to acquire it, the following has to happen:

- You must be laying siege to Earth.
- Weapons of Mass Destruction must be authorized.
- You must have enough dreadnoughts or battlecruisers to carry out an orbital bombardment.
- You must actually order an orbital bombardment.
- That orbital bombardment must permanently damage Earth's biosphere, which has only a 25% chance of happening.

If this happens, "The Homeworld" will be turned into "Earth-That-Was", and your character will gain the Living Armageddon trait and the nickname "The Worldbreaker." Your descendants will be forever marked with the stain of your actions and bear the Legacy of Armageddon trait.

The Hivers will not appear until a character invents the Hiver Implant. They may get the option to invent the Hiver Implant as a random event if they are a Cyberneticist ruler with Learning 20 and a Cybernetics level of 5 in their capital. Additional learning and Cybernetics technology increases the likelihood of the event triggering. If you're impatient, you can trigger the event manually with the console command "event hiver.1000"

If this does happen, is it possible to rebuilt "The Homeworld"?

Yes.

Galle, are you taking suggestions? I ask because it feels like suggestions are being ignored.

I've been a bit distracted lately, and my focus is on bug fixing at the moment, but I'd be happy to hear suggestions and explain why I'm not going to do them whenever you like.

If you're talking about your suggestion regarding capital ship retinues, I'm mostly just ignoring it because that's a design question I'm still really conflicted on myself.

Ok, thanks for the explanation.

I'd like to take a moment and say this mod is really fun.

How many dreadnoughts or battlecrusers do you need to carry out an orbital bombardment?
Illuminare Nov 29, 2015 @ 9:40am
Well last I checked you need one flank to be %10 battlecruise or dreadnought
Galle  [developer] Nov 29, 2015 @ 3:24pm
That was the intended requirement at the time, yeah.

There have been numerous improvements in moddability since then, though, so I may have to see if I can fix it so that it just requires you to have a capital ship, period.
