Terminator Weapons

hello
I was curious about why the player weapons and npc weapons have different fire effects.

On an unrelated note I found that I was able to pick up and use the npc weapons using the midas cannon from the Best of Toybox mod.

I thought I was the only one who noticed the different projectiles.
Inconsistent modding is pretty annoying.

ye it kinda annoyed me but to fix that here's one idea that I use:

the Midas cannon from the toybox mod - shoot an NPC with one of the npc weapons equipped, making it a golden statue. this will allow you to pick up the weapon from them.

Get a mod that gives you infinite ammo - the NPC weapons have a very small magazine, and you can't reload so once it's used up that's it. Having the ammo mod I use means I can keep firing indefinitely

Fixing first person - the NPC weapons will not show up in firstperson, and doesn't have a crosshair show up. I use 2 different thirdperson mods binded to J and K, one has a custom crosshair and the other come with a "first person"-ish preset.

here are the addons I use for this:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1385768768 binded to J

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=207948202 binded to K

I also use these so I don't have to keep getting the weapon using the midas cannon each time I start a new game

I ran into that too, initially I got this to fix it:

However, it still didn't seem to fix all of the missing textures, so I managed to find these and they seem to fix the texture issue pretty well:

hopefully this helps
