Complex EVO [HW Remastered]
{Help} Dealing with the pirates.
So i may be putting to much into this but i have tried 5/6 times already and i can't seem to get around the first part of the campaign.

I start out with the carrier and 1 squad of fighters, i also outfit the carrier with anti fighter/corvette weapons but i get swarmed ever time. I have destoryed the pirates but when i have done so the carrier dies to the nebula.

Any ideas on what i should do to aid in dealing with the pirates?

huh.... That does seem like the best thing to do, will the upgraded boost allow me to outrun the swarm tho?

Make sure to target their bombers with your interceptors to make sure they can't shoot your engines out. Micromanagement is the key to pretty much every engagement in this campaign. Once their bombers are dead you can then allow your interceptors to go after the fighters. If you are really good at micro you can have your interceptors docking with the carrier when they are on low hp so they can repair, minimizing how many you lose.

My engines always get shot out. So I always used it to help the fighters kill stuff. It's AoE type weapons gave me best results for dps, since it's much harder for them to miss. Building the fighters in squad mode made repairs a lot faster for me, as opposed to building the ships individually. You wont hit pop cap, but the utility of the faster repairs allows you to make up, or exceed the dps difference. Targeting the bombers first is key. Setting tactics and formation help. I like aggressive/claw. Dont forget to set tactics on the carrier also. Aggressive for fighting, evasive for running out of the nebula. Remember that the carrier can run, or it can fight, but it cant do both at the same time. My best play saw my engines shot, and all the raiders dead while the carrier was still in the yellow, about 2/3 hp. More than enough hp to get out of the nebula.
