How to have multiple save points in Antistasi...
Hi guys,

Here is a procedure you can use to have multiple save points in single-player Antistasi so that you can 'go back in time' if your one-and-only 'Persistent Save' game file gets corrupted or you wished you made a different decision back several saves ago...

Here is the procedure to save the game to a new file.
1. When you are ready to save, go to the Antistasi map in HQ but don't click on 'Persistent Save' yet... We need to backup the one-and-only file before 'Persistent Save' overwrites it.
2. Alt-Tab back into Windows and go to the C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Arma 3\ folder.
3. Copy and paste the <ARMA player name>.vars.Arma3Profile file and rename it to a descriptive name.
4. Alt-Tab back into ARMA and click the 'Persistent Save' button.
5. Your game state is now saved and has NOT overwritten the previous game state. (You can still go back to it with the procedure below)

How to load a previous point in time.
1. Alt-Tab back into Windows and go to the C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Arma 3\ folder.
2. Copy and Paste the file you backed up in procedure above and rename it to <ARMA player name>.vars.Arma3Profile
3. Restart ARMA. This is IMPORTANT. (Won't work if you don't exit ARMA as it cached the file)
4. When you start Antistasi and reload the previous game state you will find that the game is as the previous point in time.

This has been tested in Single Player and can probably work in Multiplayer too if the Server Host does the above on his/her file, restarts ARMA and everyone else does the procedure too and restarts ARMA.

A bit of a pain you must restart ARMA but at least it's something!

Hope that helps!

Jean-Pierre

P.S. If you can think of a way of making this work without restarting ARMA let me know!
P.P.S. If someone can try this on multiplayer setups add the procedure in this post!

Hi
I'm trying to learn how to play Antistasi well and given all the bugs and how easy it is to take a wrong path and scuttle your game I am trying to keep more than one version of the game as saved via the 'Persistent Save' on the Antistasi map.
Looking for files that change when I save, I see that the "C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Arma 3\<ARMA player name>.vars.Arma3Profile" changes every time I press the 'Persistent Save' button on the Antistatsi map.
I have run several tests to see if I can truly keep multiple save points of the game by 1) Pressing 'Persistent Save' button in ARMA, 2) Renaming the above file in Windows Explorer then 3) change something and save again then 4) Rename older save point in step 3 and finally 5) Restart and load but unfortunately even the older save point loads ARMA as if the newer save file had been read.
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing some other files that contain the 'world state' that I'm not properly processing? (Searching for files in all ARMA directories I cannot find any other file with changing timestamps)
Many thanks!
