We should have a different default spawn position.
So for the past few days I've been spending a few hours getting progress, shooting guys, reviving a few and letting them go, and doing logistics missions for city supplies. I had difficulties though with a few runs.

And most of my issues were pinned to one thing: Geography.

For basics: The outpost located above Neri and below Kavala on the map is positioned in such a manner that attempting to get away from Kavala's forces while not undercover is unable to happen if you try driving toward Neri for example, as the outpost will just snipe you out with it's MG emplacements from a far distance and depending on where you go you might end up meeting a roadblock or drive into the loving firearms of a patrol.

That outpost has been the bane of my existence along with patrols and the roadblock for the past few days. The positioning I dare say is TOO perfect to be balanced.

Along with this, the default spawn position grants not that much access to cities besides two that aren't with an outpost ready to snipe you out at any given moment. The supply truck logistics missions are really not good either since I have to go to the far out Kavala or get shot on the way into the outpost. POW Resuces also happen to be in outposts.

I can't actually HIT in the hit and run part, as I'll just be shot when I try to hit as evidenced by the outpost MG emplacements. I tried rockets on the outpost, got sniped presumably by the outpost or some AI on the hills and downed in one hit with T2 helmet and T3 body armor. My AI stood by while I was down on the ground thanks to buggy Arma 3 AI.

What I want to know is how to bloody move the starting position so I can start over in a better location where I'm more likely to be able to go to more cities and not be shut down by outposts instantly on every attempt that happens to be too far out. I'm not about to take a few hours in real life to move every piece of the HQ one at a time just to have a better experience.

But then another thought comes in and that is the default spawn position if I am having THAT much trouble trying to deal with one outpost, who's to say other beginners aren't at all? Why don't we have the default location be switched to a more inland location? I have one location in mind. https://steamcommunity.com/id/SlendLeGamer/screenshot/936079302349876516

It's around more cities, and doesn't have an outpost in the way of a city. Would there be patrols? Too easy to be destroyed? I don't know.

But then again it's probable that I'll just be told to 'learn how 2 play noob', 'stop playing', you get the idea. At the very least I'd like to have someone enlighten me on how to switch the starting position to another one. And no, I'm not taking suggestions for better spots.

Oh yeah, the default starting position is a lot of fun (in the Dwarf Fortress sense). I only took that outpost by playing house defence for a while against the enormous quantity of patrols in the area. Also the relevant radio station is seriously tough, so you're running the gauntlet with ammobox returns for a while.

Moving the HQ is much easier than you think though. Use the "HQ management" option on the flagpole and select "Move HQ to another zone". The HQ assets will disappear and Petros will join your group. Travel to a suitable spot (you did have a clean civilian car ready, right?), then select "Build HQ here" on Petros and the HQ assets will pop up around him. Make sure you save first, because occasionally the flagpole gets stuck somewhere inaccessible.

I remember how with each holdout I have to do if I am surrounded, I have to evacuate into a structure and just pick off whoever gets in, usually the thing is that the AI doesn't charge in so I end up playing the waiting game and occasionally peaking out. I always die at some point though since the squads just keep waiting or keep staying outside and fire at me if I attempt to exit.

I'll have to try that then for moving HQ aswell; should make the current run I am on easier- or maybe the run after if I decide this current one is going to take too long to get back to progression. Thanks!

You can choose your starting point at start of the mission.

I'm wondering how you do that though, what's the button for it?

Are you using fast travel from Y menu? Escape any direction to find a save zone with no enemy AI around and fast-travel to you HQ. Place observation posts to fast travel across the map.

Buy static weapons. One well placed mortar with AI hits an outpost, you grab ammoboxes, some gear and run. You can afford one mortar and one MG after a few hours of gameplay.

Really you havent noticed when you dont load the previous session the map opens and a BIG hint appears asking you to click where you want to be the starting position?

If that exists, it most likely didn't show up for me or it was not in an obvious enough spot. I had to actually randomly press I think the Y Button on the map or something.

If you want to avoid these types of questions I'd suggest just making a quick minute video or in less time pin pointing the way to switch starting positions.

Either way, I at least have a new starting position now and am finding it less annoying with more wiggle room to drive around without being shot at.

There is a tutorial vid explaining it. I suggest you to check it out.
