I do have plans for the loot to be on the journals. For now, they're just on the notes that are more rare to find than the journals since some do have some powerful (and not so powerful) items.

Good idea on the hordes, barricaded homes, and burnt houses. I'll probably have separate entries regarding those, but that'll be somewhere down the line.
