Mount & Blade: Warband

Mount & Blade: Warband

1866 Western Remastered
Issues I have with the mod's design(not bugs)
I really like this mod and the time setting it's set in, though it certainly has some very glaring flaws which really harmed my experience with it. TL;DR at bottom.

Bullet hit registration - Sometimes I'll hit several units easily when it seems like I'm blind firing. At other times, I'll miss units at near-blank range even though they're covered by my reticule. Basically what I'm trying to say is, bullet hit registration feels wildly random and can be frustrating at times. Meanwhile arrows and throwing weapons for whatever reason feel much easier to hit targets with, despite being much slower.

Bandits - Bandits will constantly keep running up to you and demanding fights, regardless of how big you are. I have over a hundred men and a squad of twenty deserters, imperialists or confederates come up demanding money... like what? I eventually just cheated persuasion to 10 so I could just tell them to f*ck off... and even then, I'm constantly doing it. They don't run up to other parties either, just me. The player bias is very annoying.
It's also annoying that the roaming armies and vigilantes can rarely be seen actually dealing with bandits. I get that it's a small map but when you're just starting off it can feel a bit unfair.

Hotel battles - Genuinely the worst part of the mod. It's obvious the AI has no idea what it's doing for such a map like this, with the enemy's troops positioned perfectly whereas your own are at their mercy. You need a much bigger larger army to attack hotels and even then they're gonna get mowed down. Sucks even more that some units you just can't reach without shooting them, and if you're out of ammo then you're just screwed(since dropped guns despawn so quickly). Also the invisible walls are frustrating when you're trying to navigate it.

AI War stupidity - The war AI just seems dumber than it usually is. Sitting around for extended periods while a war is going on, requesting you to join them and then getting angry when you got tired of waiting a week sitting around at a town, besieging forts alone which outnumber them, etc.

No Guilds, Feasts or Tournaments - Tournaments are a fun early way to build XP, weapon experience and to get money, plus a good way to woo a lady.
Feasts are a good way to meet with the various characters of a realm and are fun for roleplay.
Guilds let you build enterprises and let you improve relations with a town easier. Also an effective way to build passive income.
Why remove these three awesome features? And if any of them do exist, for the dozen or so hours I've played of this mod, I've never seen any of them... and trust me, I've looked.

Tournaments and Guilds also would've made playing as a law-abiding civilian or lawman be fun/worthwhile... but right now, you gotta be a masochist to not play as either a soldier or a bandit. There is no reliable way as a lawful independent to make reliable income. Even escorting caravans nets you barely any money... and because bandits are always rushing up to you biasedly, good luck maintaining any kind of army to protect those caravans.

Unit upkeep - Units are painfully expensive to maintain and even the higher ranking ones can die so easily. It makes the game feel very slow when you're constantly losing whatever army you manage to scrape together. Also you may as well skip Hotel conquest, since those hardly pay the salary of like half a dozen men.

Losing good reputation weekly - I like the idea of this, but it's just annoying in execution. Basically if you aren't actively trying to raise your reputation with a faction, they'll grow to unlike you over time. Sure, it always drifts back to 0, but for certain factions like bandits, it can be difficult trying to get them to like you(and leave you the hell alone).

TL;DR Bullet hit registration feels bad, nobody deals with bandits and they biasedly target you(even if you're much stronger), hotels are incredibly unfair, war AI feels extra stupid, removal of guilds/feasts/tournaments sucks, units are too expensive early game and losing reputation passively is annoying.

I'm not expecting any of this to get changed/fixed, as I imagine the mod's likely done with development outside of maybe a few bugfixes. Just thought I'd share what dampened my enjoyment of a good overall mod.

Thanks for the feedback.
I would add that some features feel like they weren't finished like certain towns with a guaranteed bandit battle being inaccessible after winning, leading to a battle screen and something like "the opposing force has 0 units"

would be cool to see something like bounties be added.
Also personally, I think the gun sounds should be replaced with spaghetti western gun shots from clint eastwood movies but thats a personal thing, it just makes the battles feel grander

One last thing, the shotguns are just useless please make them useful in close quarters

Playing this game on normal difficulty while starting from the bottom feels.. bad, even with good stat distribution early on, 5 looting yields 1-3 pieces of very cheap items, it's challenging to sustain a 20-30 man tier 1 army
