Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut

Shadowrun Unlimited
Heat?
Cutting my teeth on this mod. I like what I see, mostly, but I'm not sure I understand the heat mechanic.

I mean yes, the more runs I do in a short amount of time the more likely I am to call a PSC down on my head. Got that. But that has some unanswered questions. So far I have two.

Is there any way to tell where my heat is at? Some part of the comlink, a character I can talk to, or environmental cues?

Do some runs add more heat than others?

Found the NPC that gives me my scores. Not liking the fee, though. It hurts now and is meaningless later.

you can also simply stay a couple nights in your safehouse to drop your heat, ryvaken

The question at hand is not "how do I reduce heat?" That question is adequately answered.

The question at hand is "how often is that reduction necessary?" and, similiarly, "are there any warning signs that I need to hole up for a while?"

When a Renraku or Lonestar assault team show up that you can't kill of fairly quickly. Maybe check every N runs where n start out around 4 and increases by 4 until the period is too long then drop by then {in,de}crease by on until you get a not terribly wrong number.

I'd say a reduction is necessary based on when the frequency of attacks stops being exciting and starts being annoying. If it never stops being exciting, then hey, no reduction necessary. So far, I haven't noticed anything that is blocked by having a high heat rating.

We are having very different experiences if you have observed excitement. My experience was a few hours of "hey, look, here's something else that doesn't work" and "go kill a few thugs at organ grinders again."
