Suggestions
I have always known what I wanted this game to be, but as this project is in active development and I want this game to be the best it can be, I want to know what features, changes, or additions you guys would like to see. And yes Astral Space is on my to-do list.

My big suggestion is guard behaviour. Several times a guard will just book for an alarm panel as soon as they see me. This makes sense deep in a building behind locked doors, but it doesn't really make sense in the very first room when the front door to the building is unlocked and I'm in an entrance lobby walking up to the front desk. There should be some kind of dialogue or option for me to attack to trigger the guard treating me as an enemy rather than a potential guest at that point.

Two minor things but i think they would add on realism of the world.
1)Silenced weapons. I know there's one silenced SMG but I play as pistol user and fotr those wetjobs, they would be great.
2) Different price of taxi depending on where and from where are you traveling. I do realize it could be difficuilt to setup, but it would give feeling of actual traveled distances between hubs.
Btw great work, keep on rocking

I want: ROMANCE (and friendships) and flirting :D. I'm really intrigued by Ray and his package business. And he has a cute picture. I keep wondering what would happen if I invited him over to the bar for a soy....

Mr Johnson. I've escorted him across town at least 2 dozen times now. We must talk about _something_ when I'm walking with him. Surely I could bat my lashes at him and wile my way into a bit of juicy (and slightly valuable) gossip?

Those runners for hire...if I hire them enough times they could tell me about their backgrounds and stuff. Maybe ask me to join them now and then on their runs. They could leave messages on the comm in case I'm mid-job for someone else.

I want: the Objectives journal to work. Why, when I click on objectives, do I get the description of the building I'm in? I know where I am! What I need is a way to know where I need to go.

On that note, fixers should be wiling to repeat the terms of the job when asked. A reload after taking a break for dinner, and now I can't remember what zone Erik said had the Halloweeners! :(

I want: NPCs to recognize I'm female (since I'm playing a female runner). I'm not a "guy" or a "brother" :D.

Eachna 30 Des 2014 @ 2:36am
The NPC runners you have a chance to hire should have street cred levels you can see in the comm, showing the level of cred they have themselves (as a kind of in-game "skill level") or AT LEAST the level of cred you need to unlock them.

It's very frustrating to page through the runners in my comm and be wondering what their skills are like and if they can handle the run. A runner would make notes in their comm on what

The Hub seems to be a bit under utilized, I think it would be a great place for Deckers to hang out almost purely within the Matrix. Have Mr Johnsons randomly spawn offering intense Matrix runs, and have a Matrix connection to Rosco to offload paydata.

I think too that there's no real benefit to decking from a safehouse vs decking from a public terminal. If decking from a public terminal (foolish thing to do if you're solo without a team) there should be a random chance that a pack of gangers/Lonestar/whomever waltzes up and attacks, dump shocking you leading into combat... would add an element of danger.

Potentially adding vehicles for purchase as well instead of having to rely on Mars, or Taxi's all the time, I'd really like to bust open the wealth of potential the Shadowrun source material can offer.

One final suggestion maybe, is instead of always having runners in the game as hireable henchmen, perhaps institute a loyalty system, or a way of spending Karma to gain loyalty with runners. Once a runner loyalty is at a certain level, they become part of your "crew" ie, permanent members who take a cut from each run you go on.

So, the assumption seems to be that you're going to go for guns primary, melee secondary (if at all), not only in this mod, but in Dragonfall and Returns, and, honestly, in Shadowrun source (to an extent), and that seems to unbalance things if you actually focus on melee. I'm playing a troll with a huge amount of strength and corresponding Close Combat, with zero points in any of the ranged weapon skills, and I'm going through the arena like a knife through butter. I'm ranked somewhere around the teens now, and I've been hit a total of twice in the entire run up to this point. I have less than 75 karma spent, but my weapon has a 99% chance to hit and deals a minimum of -1 AP per hit, meaning the other guy doesn't ever even get a chance to attack me.
There should be at least a little bit of a challenge associated with gaining upwards of 250,000 nuyen over the course of this side quest.

Greater variety of melee weapons and throwing weapons would also be appreciated, as mentinoed before.

Decking needs significantly more granularity!!!!

Right now, there's actually one difficulty of decking run (note: Organ Grinders is bugged as I write this).

There are three maps for runs from Frosty, and those three maps plus I think one other (so, a fourth) available for "hack a random target" runs. The hack a random target maps includes one with a soycafe machine you can hack.

They all have the same difficulty target numbers. The only difference in the runs is whether the pay data is behind the Account Records/Management Files, or behind the CPU defenses.

When the hack a random target data is behind the CPU defenses, the target numbers show as the same but the data is worth significantly less nuyen. The management and old files are worth even less, each. So, you have to have the same skill set to hack a random target, but get less payout on fenced data (and there's no karma).

The "hack a random target" locations should be easier to hack than assigned runs from Frosty (and have lower target numbers) to provide a transitional option between Eric's single (bugged) decking run and Frosty's decking runs. That would help deckers finance their first cyberdeck upgrade, and the costs for two sets of storage upgrades.

That brings me to the next point...there's no parity between deckers and other classes as far as equipment costs.

Deckers, in order to be at all effective at Frosty's decking missions, "need" a Decking of 5. I've tried over 100 test runs at Decking 4 and while you can get through them, it's rather gruelling and the odds are pretty good that you'll run out of resources before you get pay data. To have a reasonable chance of succeeding while probably tripping ICE at least once, it's decking 5 with a Sony cyberdeck and 2's across the board in the Mission Item programs.

A Renraku deck makes it easier to get by with Decking 4, because you can then upgrade your Mission Item programs also. It costs 22,500Y. The next upgrade for deckers is 35,000Y. That's _JUST_ for the deck, it doesn't take into account deckers also need three types of programs, with multiple upgrades for each type (and a smart decker will upgrade their storage space).

All characters can use cyberware so that's a wash between classes. Consumables are also equivalent between classes.

Combat characters have very little in the way of gear costs. There are +3 and +6 armor breakpoints (+6 clothing costs 7500Y) and the most expensive 5 weapon combat weapon costs 5000Y. They seem to average around 3000Y. The gear at the cheaper vendor is significantly cheaper than that (half or less).

Mages pay 12,500Y for Powerbolt II. That's the equivalent to the cyberdeck slot for Deckers.
Mages _do_ have other spells to buy, but that's equivalent to deckers needing programs.

I'm a little fuzzy on how Chi casters work, but all their spells are cheap (under 1000Y). I think they need weapons also, so that's going to be their cash sink.

Shamans _do_ have a slightly higher cost in that they're probably expected to buy 1Talismans. I don't know if they get Power Bolt or not (I've only played a Mage) but their most expensive spell is Haste III for 24000Y (requires Conjuring 4). They have plenty of cheaper spells to enjoy along the way.

I didn't see a drone vendor for riggers, but I haven't tried the rigging skill. So I'm not sure if drones are built or bought.

Eric's missions pay around 400Y each (with a little Negotiation, and factoring in the cheapest rent). I didn't count to confirm, but I think you get sent for your first mission for Frosty after around 10 missions for Eric. Frosty pays you 5k, and you could have around 4k from Eric, estimating about 9,000Y by the time you finish Frosty's first mission.

Combat characters can afford to upgrade their weapon and armor, at the one vendor they can use. Mages are within a few runs of Power Bolt II. Shamans too, if they get it, or they can get a solid assortment of shaman spells.

Not only can't deckers upgrade their cyberdecks, they're not even halfway there. Once they upgrade their decks, there's still three types of programs to buy, and deck storage upgrade costs. They "should" have enough cash to upgrade to the Renraku deck after they finish Frosty's first mission (just like casters and combat characters can improve their gear), but all they can afford is Mission Item and Stash programs and maybe one ESP. If they buy those (and they pretty much have to as they start with no programs), that leaves nothing (or close to nothing) for the Renraku,

At 22,500 and 400Y a mission, that's 56 missions before a decker can afford a better cyberdeck, *ignoring all other costs*. No other class in the game has to go through 56 missions _JUST_ to upgrade their weapon slot to the first available upgrade. Mages are the closest at 31 missions for Power Bolt II, which is almost half as many.

Once they have the Renraku, it's just a few missions to max out the storage, and then they can pull in around 5000Y a decking mission with fenced data (with an upgraded Fuchi, about 8000Y a mission). Getting there involves investing 22500 for a deck, about 5000Y in Mission Item programs, probably 10,000Y in Stash programs (which is being cheap), 3-5000Y in ESP programs (this one is admittedly optional), whatever the storage costs are for the Renraku, and Int/Decking 5/5. I wouldn't be surprised if a realistic cost to get geared for Frosty's decking missions is 50,000Y. It's an "all or nothing" situation right now.

I think that deckers should have to pay more than other classes, since they have special missions that pay more (including fenced data rates) than Frosty's "other" missions. But, they should have also have reasonable chance of buying the Renraku deck when other classes are buying their first weapon upgrades, early in the game (I'd drop the price to around 10,000Y).

And, since the decking missions are both buggy and incomplete, I'd lower the target numbers in the "Hack a random target" missions to give deckers with Sony cyberdecks missions they can reasonably expect to complete with a Decking skill of 3 and Mission Item programs at 1. This would allow deckers some extra cash to buy the many programs they need, as well as keeping up with all the other expenses on their characters.

Those two changes would allow deckers to progress at a similar rate to other classes, while still allowing for the large cash sinks that would absorb much of their higher profits.

Eachna 7 Jan 2015 @ 5:19pm
The "top" data in Frosty's missions (the six stolen data files hidden behind the CPU defenses) presently pays around 1200Y a file. With approximately 1200Y a mission fee (it can be a little more and one pays less than half that), with an upgraded Fuchi cyberdeck that's usually worth about 8000Y a mission. That's more than double what other classes get paid for Frosty or Vigor's jobs and those other classes usually need to hire NPCs.

I'd scale it down at least to 5-6000Y a job, total. At 800Y a data file, that's 4800Y for all six which is still generous but will slow down the accumulation.

As the game plays now, deckers are cash strapped and nigh incompetent in their primary role (decking) until they can get decking 5 and their first deck upgrade. After they get the Fuchi, there are no sinks in the game that genuinely absorb their profits (the Excalibur is a one-time expense if they even bother).

As more content is added, more money sinks will be added. But, even with the higher expenses of a decker, there's no reason for them to get paid that much just for investing in a Renraku cyberdeck.

Correction: There's no reason for them to get paid that much just for investing in a Fuchi cyberdeck.

It doesn't make sense that Frosty's missions give the same Karma as Eric's.

Her decking missions are more complex (well except for the bugginess issues and all decking missions having the same target numbers, which seems like either poor planning or another bug).

Her "other" (non-decking missions) are even harder, requiring multiple skills (weapons, spells, and decking) and being hard enough that you'd likely hire NPCs.

For now, Eric's missions are the most efficient way to earn Karma. In about 1 minute of real time, you can accept the mission, start and finish it, and either turn it in (or at least be calling Eric).

Both the decking missions and the non-decking missions take longer than that and require more investment in cash and skill-building. Since they're "harder", there should be a greater reward.

I'd suggest something like 2 karma a decking run for Frosty and 3-4 karma an "other" run for Frosty or Vigor.
Don't want to hijack the thread, but Eachna, where did you find the vendor to sell you the Fuchi deck? I can't find it anywhere =/
Eachna 8 Jan 2015 @ 12:33am
Frosty sells decking gear, including programs and two decks. She has the Fuchi (and the Renraku). Right back atcha...do you know where the pit fighting and the customizable safe house are? I can't find either.
Eachna 8 Jan 2015 @ 4:29am
Suggestion: I don't have all the upgrades so I don't know if it has it already, but the decking station in the upgradable safehouse would be awesome if it could have a link to hand off pay data to your fixer (for "download" missions).

Bonus coolness if it looked like a pneumatic tube and has an air "whoosh" sound effect.
