Constructive feedback
It's nice to see the map finally released... but I can't help but feel a little disappointed. I was really hoping to see the maps visuals finally live up to its name, but sadly yet again the beauty and cleanliness of Tuscany has been thrown out of the window.

The visuals however, in truth, are not as bad as some people are making them out to be. Honestly some the visuals look downright fantastic.
They’re just extremely inconsistent and lack an overall theme... It’s even described as a map based in Northern Africa/Spain... whilst being named after a region in Italy...
This MAJOR identity crisis I feel is the main issue with the visuals, yes the crates look god-awful... but that’s nothing that can’t be fixed. Just look at Crown, a map that uses loads of traditional style crates, yet they’ve been well updated for the modern era. And yes the textures aren’t the best, but they can be replaced and improved rather quickly.
The lack of a single identity, theme and location to tie everything together, is really the only major issue. It’s so muddled right now that it all just looks odd and dated. It would be nice to see the map fully embrace the Italian village theme, with beautiful clean plaster walls at player level and gorgeous details above the player’s heads and in the skybox. The dusty favela style architecture really doesn’t fit in with the colour scheme, nor the props used (nor the name for that matter). There are some lovely elements right now, (T Spawn, Banana etc.) however the areas don’t mesh well together and suffer from a lack of consistency, but that’s something that can be fixed easily.
Another small minor issue, for me, is the player models... Honestly I loathe the stock ST6 models and whilst I like the Phoenix connexion, they are extremely overused on competitive maps...
Anyway, you can’t expect everything to be perfect in the beta release, that’s why it’s a beta. It’s exciting enough to see that Brutes is not dead and is busy beavering away at the map again. Maybe when Seasons done Brutes could recruit FMPONE to give the map a beautiful Italian makeover.

Gameplaywise, the map could do with some extra clipping brushes here and there. But I expect that's already on the list of things to do.

@Wave - Appreciate your feedback and most of these issues can be addressed and will be addressed as the map moves forward. Most of these fixes are easily done too. Player models need to change for sure.

The naming of the map is what it is, the name stuck, but the regional flavor of the map is more from Tripoli / Tunisia. Does it make sense, probably not but the name is what sells the map, it's always been a little bit of Sicily, Spain, and North Africa.

I don't want to embrace an italian theme, it's extremely played out in CSGO, it's everywhere, and it's boring. Every other new map that comes out has italian flavor behind it. Not happening.

- this will never happen

A Few Things That Are Planned:
- player models will be tweaked now that the map is out to better match the color scheme
- both bombsites are getting crate overhauled in the future
- clipping ares is an ongoing process, it's near impossible to CLIP an entire map the first time
- some texture rework where necessary

"some texture rework where necessary"
Brute, please, be honest and accept that the whole map needs a texture rework. It is okay for a beta, but those texture are outdated, in fact, I think they were already outdated 8 years ago, CS:S had nicer textures. Please, a lot of people are trying to tell you that, don't you think that there lies a bit of truth? Do you really think everybody wants to hate? If this map wouldn't have a visual problem there wouldn't be so much comments about that. People LOVE the layout you created years ago, you can be proud that they still want to play it! In fact, they love the map so much that they take things, like an ugly reskin, very personal.

First off I'm loving this map and I can't wait to see it played in both leagues and maybe even in a future operation. I only have two small issues, first one is this flower box in b site. (http://i.imgur.com/NMvy5hl.jpg) It collides with players so I personally think it should be no-collided. Second issue is just the back of ct spawn. (http://i.imgur.com/zTsNAlV.jpg) I personally hate invisible walls and I believe many other people do aswell.

I agree with the lack of a theme and the boxes (especially the boxes, look very 1.6/source-esque). Also at B the collision on the scaffolding is very off, as if something is blocking you from jumping. It may be the flower box but I can't be sure. As for the appearance, I'm not sure if it's the textures so much as the models. They all look very jagged and straight, and then the more rounded models dont really seem to fit in.

Aside from all that, this is an amazing map and I look forward to playing it in the future. I love all the spots there are to sit in at the sites. Very well laid out.

leave some doors open, like in ct and t spawn, it does not change anything but some pros might like it, also its too dark it would simply be ct sided map it needs some color midification and texture, add me if u want details !!!

I Hope you optimice the map graphics..
since its seems worst than the source's tuscan...

Good job, but I dont like the textures, I think the Favela map has better textures than this..

Nice map

I hope that in the final version, those CS:S'ish crates will be replaced with something else (and by that i don't mean to be necessarily other crates). Another thing that bugs me it's the fact that i see on the outside ground only dirt and grass textures and no brick/stone/etc. pavement. It's hard to believe that in a small north african or spanish town there isn't pavement at all.

One major gripe I have is with the lack of contrast with some of the wall textures compared to the player models. You really can't have that kind of a visibility issue in a map made especially to competitive play in my honest opinion. When that is fixed, I don't think I won't have any problems with this map.

I agree, that (at least on first glance) when comparing graphical fidelity to other maps in the official map pool, tuscan isn't up to par. I do not care about graphical fidelity though, so it doesn't bother me that much.

The core layout is (of course) still excellent. I loved mill and tuscan in 1.6, I love it in GO as well. I also like the fact, that I feel less constricted in terms of space within the map compared to a lot of other maps converted from 1.6. I also like the cleaner, less cluttered look compared to GO maps in general.

While I really love to have this map on major tournaments and leagues (since it has been proven before to be a competitive map), I can't (as an outsider) see this becoming a map on either majors or matchmaking, since Valve has the final word on the maplist in both of those options. It is hard getting maps into leagues, when they are not on major tournaments and matchmaking. It's a real shame, but hopefully it'll get in.

Not sure why... but I always kick butt when I play this map. It runs and looks well. No real scale issues that cripple so many good maps.
A few things keep it in the shadows.
- People are quick to call it a cpl_mill.bsp clone.{ plays way better than Mill }
- Bombsite B needs to be more attractive to Terrorists.
- The underground tunnel is needed.. but seldom used. Lots of wasted space to trim maybe.
- T spawn is slightly boring and confusing.
Didn't think I would like this map. But like I said, when I play it I usually spank az. Would like to see more of it.
