Bug? Container Probe doesnt trigger on alternator draining water container
I've a set of pumps and water container, initialy used to water crops. With the 1.1 update, I added probes to them, did work very well ( set to 0-4). As soon water cannons used the water, the pumps turned on.

With the alternator nerf, I wanted to connect them to the water container. But they will simply drain the container without triggering the probe. The pumps wont be turned on again.

You're using pumps to water crops or water cannons.?

+ are you using one of the chests as a container or an actual water container & how do you switch the watering system on.?

Pump -> container -> cannon -> crops.

No chest. Container only.

Container probes switch em on.

Lost me. this would make the pumps constantly pump and the cannons constantly fire water if the level sensor was to work.

I trust the alternator is physically connected to the same structure as the water container.?

The canons are operated by a button and latch, so they dont water nonstop. The watering part works and is irrelevant to the bug.
The water collection is operated by a probe to keep container "full" (81/100 water).

Ok.
The vacuum pumps stop pumping when containers reach 100 anyway.
Then start as soon as level gets <100

I've had a go with the level sensor but not really found a use as yet as even when I set it to turn off water to my container for metal production it just fills the container then begins to fill my chest chain with water despite the sensor being set to 50 and wired to the pump. :(

If you have the pump latch on / off with the cannon firing would the pump keep up with your cannon fire rate.?

IDK yet, But what about a water sensor in 1 soil plot then when that plot gets dry it triggers watering.?

I haven't noticed if the alternator water levels deplete I'm assuming it's a radiator coolant.

Let me know how / if you get on with one of these "Ideas" I'm still experimenting with my own.

Trying to turn the antenna communications tower into a Rocket to escape and make a
"Noob vs Pro" clickbait video for YouTube. Lol.

Nah. Without any logic they would keep pumpin and fill up any available chest connected with tubes. Before the update I had the pumps on a closed loop to prevent that.

That's a astrange choice by the moddevs for a default value. 50 STACKS? Cant remember any container providing that much. A big chest offer just 30.
So yeah... the value you enter is STACKS. That's why I enter 0-4 for my water containers, so as soon it's "full" (all slots occupied), the pumps turn off.

Nope. Before the update I had a timer for the pumps to run them ~3 times the duration of the cannons. I had 7 cannons per container/pump.

That wont fix the issue with the container running dry on water w/o the pumps being switched on again.
For a manual farm, a simple button press is ok. In vanilla I had an auto farm, they would just water again after harvest, no need for a scanner.

Gonna wait for an answer if it's a bug that the probe wont trigger if the container gets drained by an alternator. Should it be an intended behaviour, I'm gonna place another pump/container in a closed loop just for the alternators.

Ahhh. I'll have a fresh look with "Stacks" in mind.
My alternator is still full of water and connected to a water container that container is pipe fed by a manual button from a non submerged vacuum pump with zero issues.

However, my drivable multi purpose miner / vacuum cleaner no longer works. The connection light goes out between the pump & the end of the pipe connected to the pump.

It goes out and pump displays a X after it's rebuilt, rewired and driven over one item. ie 1 corn then stops and I have to remove vacuum pump & pipe piece replace, rewire redrive over loot spawns and it picks one up then stops again.

Even cycling the switch on & off to see if the pump needs a loop like the cannon does but nope.
