Same situation here. I hear "drop pods," then receive a fatal error.

I am also dealing with the same problem. I tried to run the game at best performance settings, checked for corrupted files and updated all my drivers but nothing seems to fix the issue.

sadly, yes. it's just broken.

I haven't got this problem HOWEVER I am receiving fatal crashes with the target locator in the Mammoth mission

There seems to be alot of crashes with this mod. Several missions mid campaign crash, and are not able to be completed. Target locator doesn't work, and when picking certain mission rally points, they won't load properly. Hopefully it all gets fixed, cause when it's working, it makes halo 4 actually pretty fun to play.

Same with this one, had issues with the drop pod too (I LOVE that the Silent Shadow are in this mod though)
