AOredone - Extended Version

This project has been developed upon AO Redone by Grondel. Its main purpose is to upgrade the campaign experience by adding some cool scripts as Grondel did for AO Redone until AO41 East and most of all to enhance mid/late campaigns editing existing scenarios and even adding several new ones, in particular for the Ahistorical Path. A lot of maps have been added and almost every map in the series has been edited (many of them heavily), with the aim of being not only more historical but also more geographically accurate.
Anyway, before giving more details on this mod, I think it is first of all necessary to thank Grondel for his continuous and invaluable support that he has been able to provide.

AO SCW - Untouched

A0 1939

- Map editing/polishing/naming for almost all scenarios (only Lvov/Wlodawa path scenarios untouched); most changes in the Battle of Bzura and the Warsaw map, which has been properly named (some changes here also for the main objectives)
- Added a prestige reward for seizing Modlin Fortress in Modlin scenario
- After Warsaw added Spoils of war and Undisclosed Location EP scenarios (the latter one is a training scenario) both by Grondel' GC Remake Campaign

A0 1940

- Heavy map editing/polishing/naming for almost all scenarios (only Eben Emael/Hannut path untouched); most changes in Lille, Neufchateau and all the Sealion maps
- Added Lillehammer and The Hague scenarios (the latter to replace Grebbeberg) from Grondel' GC Remake Campaign. In Lillehammer scenario you can have a Neubaufahrzeug tank for 500 prestige, consequently the chance to have another one in the Hannut scenario has been disabled; also at the end of The Hague scenario infantry hero Rudolf Witzig joins your army
- In Dunkirk you can gain heavy bomber hero Gerhard Renz upon completing the air defense bonus objective
- In Neufchateau added a K5 rail artillery bonus (20 pieces with Limited Availability) upon seizing Verdun (which now is of course well defended)
- In Brighton the vital submarines support is triggered by air proximity (no more by naval proximity)
- In Epsom the very fundamental West Aerodrome bonus is little more difficult to gain (no more free highways inside London for your recon unit; hint: send there some paratroopers)
- In Pindus you can gain infantry hero Eduard Dietl upon completing the Metsovo bonus objective

A0 1941 East

- Heavy map editing/polishing/naming for almost all scenarios (only Stalin Line/Tallin/Leningrad path untouched). To be mentioned Yugoslavia and Thessaloniki (both widely reworked, still far from perfect but imho better than vanilla), Raseiniai (almost completely reworked), Minsk1941 (bigger with Brest-Litovsk and part of Pripyat Marshes), Smolensk1941 (heavily retouched), Gomel (bigger with Chernigov and Konotop), Lokhvitsa (bigger with Sumy and Poltava), Kiev1941 (heavily retouched) and Battle of Moscow (widely reworked, but still not satisfied with it)
- Added Grondel's random hero script and reserve script in every scenario
- In Yugoslavia added recon hero Fritz Klingenberg as a bonus upon capturing Belgrade
- In Operation Mercury hero Adolf Galland is replaced by fighter hero Walter Dahl
- In Minsk1941 you can have a powerful Karl Gerat heavy morser for 3 CPs; also you do not get anymore a second armoured train
- In Kiev1941 the Kiev bonus objective now grants you 6 CPs (not 5 as vanilla for balance reasons with the previous 3 CPs expense for the Karl Gerat, otherwise you could not have infantry hero Helmut Wirnsberger in the following Bryansk scenario)

A0 1942 East

- Heavy map editing/polishing/naming for almost all scenarios (only Nordlicht/Ladoga path and Winter Storm untouched); to be mentioned Novorossiysk (slightly wider to the west, to include Temryuk and the mouth of the Kuban River) and Streets of Stalingrad, which is now bigger and more accurate.
- Added Grondel's random hero script and reserve script in every scenario
- In Rzhev1942 your isolated troops are still surrounded but not completely paralyzed, so you have the chance to break the encirclement (but be aware that the enemy forces are slightly stronger)
- In Operation Cerberus on start you are gifted 15 Fw190A3 fighter prototypes by Galland (and right after that you are offered 15 more) instead of 15+15 Fw190A1, which are already available for purchase; also added fighter hero Josef Priller as a further bonus upon sinking the Royal Navy Home Fleet Squadron
- In the Second Battle of Kharkov the Soviets field more armies and are generally more powerful
- After the Second Battle of Kharkov added new Sevastopol scenario (edited map from the base campaign one); here you have the chance to acquire the incredible Gustav rail artillery for 5k prestige (and even some funny Goliath if you like) as prototypes. Obviously this battle can be quite easy if you field at the same time all your three uber units (K5, Karl and Gustav), not to mention the most effective version of Rudel with his StuKa: in this case you can take it as a more refined version of Kummersdorf :-)
- In Voronezh, like Kharkov before, the Soviets field more armies and are generally more powerful; also at start you can recruit infantry hero Friedrich Pein for 4 CPs
- Voroshilovgrad SDO has been replaced by a new Voroshilovgrad scenario focusing on German Donbass offensive in July '42: this is a massive battle where the Russians field a lot of armies and aircraft (hint: you'll need a very strong air defense here)
- In Novorossiysk, since the Soviets are definitely stronger and more aggressive, the strength of the poor pumping stations has been increased to give them a chance to survive (but getting this bonus objective is anyway harder than vanilla)
- In Streets of Stalingrad the number of non-city hexes has been greatly reduced to further emphasize urban combat (with the exception of the area around the Mamayev Kurgan), so now only infantry units or tanks with Vigilant hero can feel relatively comfortable; also there are no more airfields inside the city (as it was historically) but there are several ones just outside, so this change has overally a limited impact on gameplay. The Soviets are quite stronger than vanilla but you can benefit from the always welcome support from the Sixth Army. Moreover you can gain tank hero Johannes Boelter by capturing the Barrikady Gun Factory

A0 1943 East

- Heavy map editing/polishing/naming for all scenarios (historical path maps excluded); to be mentioned BackhandBlow (now covers also Kharkov and much more), Yakovlevo-Oboyan (which is now a single bigger scenario, with obviously tons of minefields), Operation Roland (way bigger than vanilla) and Astrakhan (heavily reworked)
- Added Grondel's random hero script and reserve script in every scenario
- BackhandBlow is an almost completely new scenario: getting the bonus objectives is easy like vanilla but completing successfully the mission is harder. You do have the support of Das Reich and Totenkopf elite divisions and I can understand if you start believing to be invincible, but unfortunately there are a lot of Soviet armies waiting for you before Kharkov that rapidly will change your mindset. You still have an edge, but you have to make good use of your supporting cast
- In Kummersdorf1943 hero Michael Wittmann is finally promoted to tank commander
- In Operation Roland the Soviets are much stronger than vanilla, not so much to prevent them of being crushed but at least to make the battle interesting until the very last turns
- After Rostov1943 added Manych Breakout scenario with a new Caucasus German offensive; it is a large map with a lot of Soviet armies
- In Return to Stalingrad the Soviet counterattack is much more dangerous than vanilla; keep this in mind before crossing the Manstein Line, but at this point of the campaign you should be strong enough to punish them heavily

AO 1944 East

- Heavy map editing/polishing/naming for all scenarios (historical path maps excluded); to be mentioned Case Orange (partially reworked even if I am not completely satisfied with the result), Riga1944 (almost redone) and Operation Panzerschreck (extended the Carpathian Front).
- Added Grondel's random hero script and reserve script in every scenario
- In Case Orange getting the elite objective is now slightly easier but overally the scenario is a bit harder. Also as in vanilla you have the option to reset your prestige to 9500, but now you get some powerful Soviet equipment in return (25 IS1, 19 ISU122AT, 19 ISU152ATY and 25 SU6AA), not too much but at least something that make you thinking about this option (sorry but unfortunately the vanilla message cannot be edited)
- After Case Orange added Voronezh1944 (for Operation Corridor) and Saratov (for Operation Tusk), both big and difficult maps (especially Saratov) for a first showdown with the Soviets. In Voronezh1944 a strong air defense is definitely required to win, while in Saratov pay attention to the super-heavy Soviet assault guns (as they are able to hurt even the strongest unit you have) and watch out your flanks
- After Saratov added Kummersdorf1944, training scenario where you can restore your three uber units if damaged and most of all attach them a very useful Field Repairs and Reduced Slots hero. Hint: use this scenario to strengthen as much as possible your planes
- In Operation Stormbird the Allies deploy a quite intimidating air force (you have trained and upgraded your aircraft, right?), but if you rely on jet fighters you should be safe. Hint: use wisely the reserve backdoor to manage at best your planes
- In Riga1944 you can field your planes from the very beginning but the Soviet assaulting forces are much more powerful than vanilla for a definitely tough scenario
- In Lvov1944 the German southern defenses have been slightly upgraded because as usual the Soviets are much more powerful than vanilla; also you have the option for another prestige reset to 7900 and as before you get some strong Soviet equipment in return if you accept (19 IS2, 25 T44, 29 T34-85 and 25 YaG10AA, sorry again as the vanilla message cannot be edited)
- Battle of Ploesti has been widely retouched and refined; now the Romanian defenses are overally stronger and better positioned, but the Soviets are a true killing machine here. Anyway if you use wisely your wunderwaffen and do not recklessly expose your jets to enemy fire you shouldn't have too much trouble destroying them

AO 1945 East

- Heavy map editing/polishing/naming for all scenarios (historical path maps excluded); to be mentioned Operation Puma and Operation Hydra (both widely reworked) and most of all the Case Bruno map (really a big one), it's been a pleasure to draw it :-))
- Added Grondel's random hero script and reserve script in every scenario
- In Operation Barca now the north-western front is more difficult to break through than the south-western one (because of the map changes), keep this in mind during deployment
- In Munich and Operation Feuerkartoffel the briefings have been extensively edited according to the changes in the story line
- Added two new scenarios to end the War in the East, Ulyanovsk and Kuybyshev. I think everyone at this point expects two long and tough battles, and guess what, in fact it's exactly like that. In general, the combo of overstrengthed and highly experienced units make the Soviets very dangerous to even your most powerful units; in Ulyanovsk the map offers ample opportunity for maneuver but since you will necessarily have to split your army you will be constantly under pressure, while in Kuybyshev the enemy is literally overwhelming and for much of the mission you will have your work cut out just to survive even with the support of your friends Segimer von Teutoburg and "Die Spinne" coming from Operation Barca. Anyway, in both scenarios a very strong air defense is clearly mandatory, otherwise you will be wiped out. Finally in Kuybyshev at start you can refill your most powerful Soviet equipment for 6 CPs (35 T44, 40 T44_100, 25 IS2, 20 IS3, 35 SU100, 25 ISU122AT, 25 ISU152ATY and 30 SU6AA)
- In Zahidan you can drive across the Zagros mountains according to the new objectives to seize in the mission, which by the way after the previous ones feels like a walk in the park; in addition for 2 CPs you can acquire fighter hero Gerhard Barkhorn (in vanilla you can have him in Operation Corridor, but this one has different traits, better suited for late-war battles)
- In Operation Hydra there are many more objectives to capture (both for Bonus and Elite) and the enemy is much stronger, in particular be aware of the overstrenghted British jet fighters; also you can get fighter-bomber ace Eckart Wilhelm von Bonin upon completing the Elite Objective
- Finally in Case Bruno, long but not too difficult mission, you have the chance to spend 6 CPs for some elite British equipment (30 BlackPrince, 35 CenturionMkII, 25 Tortoise, 25 MeteorMkIII and 35 TempestMkV) and capturing the RAF Surat airfield you'll find further 35 MeteorMkIII and 40 TempestMkV

Final note: all this stuff has been playtested only using an imported core year by year.

Tried using this mod with my ongoing AO-41 campaign. Changing maps it seems to work. However, all my infantry still has 15 strength (Azul+Pioneers). When I try to upgrade any unit, game crashes repeatedly. No other mods are active. Sent in the crash report, do not know if you can access that.

I have no acces to the crash reports.
Changing mods mid campaign can have a lot of issues, especially with the units. i don´t recommend that. It´s next to impossible to say which unit is causing ur issue.
Do u have the same issue when u start a fresh campaign?

I am not able to recreate ur crash, scenario plays fine for me. Sometimes files get curropted, u can try to unsubscribe and resubscribe the mod to get fresh ones.

I deleted all the mods, checked the integrity of the game, reinstalled your mod - it didn’t help, the game still crashes =( Maybe you can try checking from my save?

Very nice Mod really liked it so far and hope for 1946.
I have a problem after Kuybyshev in 1945 so ... there is no map so I cannot continue any idea how to fix this?

at operation hydra it doesnt continue anymore i can get the new hero there but after this nothing the round go about and nothing even at round 90
