on one hand you have way more units and can protect your ari and antitank units better on the other hands no 3-4 chain kills per tank/round ^^
I just never considered that some people would not use OS since it seems the natural thing to do to me ^^
maybe I will start a new run (again :p) without OS
As a suggestion since you mentioned that it is balanced with no overstrength in mind
Maybe you could balance it with overstrength in the highest difficulty? I didnt even know people play without. Especially with heroes in mind it makes totally no sense for me to not use it ^^
But with all heroes and veterans from the legion condor it becomes a little easy
Of course I see that it is quite hard to balance over such a long time were some get all heroes some dont ^^
At the end it was getting a little easy and in many rounds several tanks used up all ammo (1 left for first strike ^^) Personally I would really enjoy having some enemy positions that are heavily fortified especially with heroes on enemy units to make it harder. Otherwise nice maps fun to play thanks ;)

since several patches now the game has the issue that traits will no longer carry over to the next campaign. we do not know what they broke and have not the needed game acces to fix this with mods.
To work around it decline when asked to continue so ur core gets saved and start the next campaign with core import.
with first strike you dont need vigilant anymore since also when definding you strike first and infantry just gets insta killed when attacking you
