yea seems different played 3 mission without OS now
on one hand you have way more units and can protect your ari and antitank units better on the other hands no 3-4 chain kills per tank/round ^^

Well, no ETA it's too early, right now I'm completing the new Cotentin scenario to replace the Herrlingen narrative one; I would guess about a month if there are no problems with playtesting

Hi Andrea69! What's your ETA of the next update then? No rush, of course. And for Galthran, I tried playing the campaign without OS and on the highest difficulty, it's really hard especially on the later parts of the campaign.

Well, since you seem like a veteran player to me, I think it is natural to choose the toughest challenge. If despite this setting it still seems too easy to win the game, move on to David vs Goliath (but still without OS): I believe that 10 vs 23/21 or 25/23 is really at the limits and perhaps beyond, but by carefully choosing the available heroes it is feasible (but I say this without ever having tried this sort of ultimate challenge)

I just never considered that some people would not use OS since it seems the natural thing to do to me ^^
maybe I will start a new run (again :p) without OS

Hello Galthran, balancing with OS in mind would be a little too much, at least for what I consider my "standard difficulty" in late campaigns... let's make some easy calcs: in 44/45/46 camps you have to deal typically with 18/16 enemies (18 strength vehicles, 16 strength aircraft) and later on 20/18. So it is 10 (you) vs 18/16 or 20/18. If you play with OS, even if in David vs Goliath mode, you have 15 vs 23/21 or 25/23. Balacing this for OS would need 15 vs 30/26, making the game unplayable or so for who do not OS (10 vs 30/26). Therefore my advice, if you really don't want to give up OS, is to at least play in David vs Goliath mode

As a suggestion since you mentioned that it is balanced with no overstrength in mind
Maybe you could balance it with overstrength in the highest difficulty? I didnt even know people play without. Especially with heroes in mind it makes totally no sense for me to not use it ^^
But with all heroes and veterans from the legion condor it becomes a little easy
Of course I see that it is quite hard to balance over such a long time were some get all heroes some dont ^^

Hello Vepley, for now my focus remains on the alternative route; compared to the official AO version, expect some changes in the storyline and some new scenarios: Corridor, Tusk and Herrlingen are gone and in their place you will find three scenarios in Russia (so one more than in AOredone 1.0) and another one dedicated to Normandy (in addition to Stormbird)

Love the recent update (Still haven't played but planning to before the end of this year). Question, what's the progress of '44 since I'm curious of how you'll handle both the Historical and Alternative routes.

You can upgrade Italian Infantry and M13-40 tank to ITInfantry 41 and M14-41 models; also Azul Infantry is upgradable to Azul Infantry 41. No upgrade for Bersaglieri here. I still invite you to read the campaign release notes where you will find this and much more useful information. For this campaign have a look at the update 21.04.25 thread

So, after Crete, another mission with the ugprade depots. I have both italian infantry chilling on the depots, can they not use them to upgrade? Is it only vehicles that can use them?

Hello Galthran, I'm glad you enjoyed the campaign, AO44 should be more difficult... in general, it's complicated to balance the difficulty level so that everyone can enjoy it, especially for experienced players. In any case, keep in mind that the gameplay has been balanced for players who don't use overstrength. I believe that the combination of experienced player + overstrength + overabundance of heroes in late game effectively kills the difficulty and therefore also the fun

At the end it was getting a little easy and in many rounds several tanks used up all ammo (1 left for first strike ^^) Personally I would really enjoy having some enemy positions that are heavily fortified especially with heroes on enemy units to make it harder. Otherwise nice maps fun to play thanks ;)

since several patches now the game has the issue that traits will no longer carry over to the next campaign. we do not know what they broke and have not the needed game acces to fix this with mods.
To work around it decline when asked to continue so ur core gets saved and start the next campaign with core import.

Having a slight issue with transferring my core from SCW to AO39. When I load into the first scenario, it isn't giving me the option to pick my general's traits anymore. Any help with this would be appreciated.

first strike, ignore entrenchment, rapid fire + some tank hero and you just steamrole anything it is even a little easy as soon as you get enough heroes running ^^
with first strike you dont need vigilant anymore since also when definding you strike first and infantry just gets insta killed when attacking you

Well, if you made it through the final battles against the Soviets without problems, it means your core force is strong enough to win this scenario. There may be a problem with the correct assignment of heroes; for example, you should use the Vigilant + Ignore Entrenchments combo on some tanks to clear the way more easily. And make good use of your rail guns (if you have them).

Hello All - I have had no problems so far but just cannot completes the last 1945 mission to capture Bombay. I cant even get to the city by turn 36 let alone capture the squares in it. Theres really only 2 roads leading down and has many check points held by infantry and anti tank guns. I deploy engineers with artilley support etc but takes soo long and cant get my armoured units flanking. Also enemy has so many airfields which are attacking my artillery non stop as i try to bring them up - any advice please.

Well, “downsize Panther” that’s easier said than done I would say, considering the long barrel of the Panther model... maybe the E-50 model, actually a little too small in my opinion, could be fine, but then I should think about how to replace the E-50 (maybe with the E-75 model, which I appreciate)… I’ll think about it

Well Leopard chassis was panther and his turret is 5cm i think (same weapon as puma). So i figures downsize panther would be appropriate.

Btw, the last 2 Soviet missions of 1945 AO Redone were quite fun too. Very cool how my three advancing unit groups got under attack almost simultanously. Managed to hold the Soviets off and destroy them, but the real difficulty was in the air bases being spaced so far apart. Very hard to conduct recons while approaching the last cities. Fighting the British again on the subsequent scenarios was suddenly childishly easy.

Yesterday I concluded the Battle of Los Angeles at Generalissimus. This battle was huge! Took me 3 days to complete it. Well, okay, no full days. Map was like Stalingrad, plus a whole desert "Vormarsch" to boot. Took me 43 turns to complete all objectives, Bonus and Elite included. Casualties tally on my part included a staggering 78 recon planes and and a 4-star armored train that was quite dear to me. Didn't count how many planes I shot down? 150 maybe?

If I remember correctly, the biggest maps are Los Angeles, Alamo precisely, Holzfaller and Zweihander... in the next review I will still try to reduce their size or at least the load for the game

@Grondel: Ich nutze Libre Office. Ich hatte, wie gesagt, schon öfter EInheiten geändert oder hginzugefügt. Nur diesmal sind sieht das oft so aus "'Fallschirmj��ger". Die Fragezeichen sind überall, wo sonst ein ü, ö oder ä ist. Verändere ich etwas, bekomme ich immer invalid units im Spiel angezeigt.

Thank you for making this mod. I have encountered some issue at Denmark AO 1939, some gift units added by mod seems bugged out and become a big red ? . When I open the shops the game will crash, could someone look at the mod of the last mission please? Thank you.

As for the experience of aux units, the ones you buy are tied to the default experience setting (but this also impacts any new core units you may purchase), while those who spawn by script can be set to whatever value you want
