Building Menu - Sandbox settings explained
Building Menu Recipes Overview
The Building Menu Recipes setting allows you to customize the construction requirements in the game. This includes materials and skill levels needed for different objects, also let's you change XP gains per skill level.

Structures Behaviour
Thumpable Structures - thumpable is the property of an object to be hit by entities. If this option is disabled, it allows the player to toggle from UI options this property. You will know if an object has this attribute if the tooltip shows "INDESTRUCTIBLE" in red.

Consumable Materials
  • Use Paint in Recipes - if recipes use paint, recipes with only paint as the only ingredient will still require, default = true

  • Paint Can Uses - the number of uses you get per paint can, default = 10 (vanilla)

  • Blow Torch Uses - the number of uses for each blow torch, default = 10 (vanilla)

  • Bucket with Asphalt Mix Uses - the number of uses per bucket of asphalt mixture, default = 10

  • Bucket with Concrete Uses - the uses per bucket of concrete, default = 10
Note: It's ranging from "4 Uses" to "100 Uses" + "Infinite Uses", choosing a higher number of uses will make each item last longer.


Materials
The recipes are divided into 2 categories, small and large objects (in addition to the 2 small and large walls). From these 2 categories objects recipes are scaled depending on the category they fall into, by size and type.
  • Big Walls Wood and Nails Cost - the amount of wood and nails required for constructing big walls

  • Small Walls Wood and Nails Cost - the wood and nails needed for small walls

  • Big Objects Material Costs - the wood and nails required for big objects, this includes buildables like Doors, Stairs, Large Furniture, Beds, Couches

  • Small Objects Material Costs - the wood and nails required for small object, this includes buildables like Roof Tiles, Small Doors, Wall Decorations, Signs, Crates, Counters, Small Furniture, Chairs
Note: The cost scales with the object size and type, for example Wooden Stairs are Big Objects (with default plank cost of 6), but being a larger structure it is multiplied internally by 2.25, having a cost of 14 planks. It was chosen to do so as to not have thousands of options and to not be too overwhelming.


Skills and XP Gains
You can change the skill levels required for different constructions and the XP gains per each level.


Special Objects Recipes
Water well capacity can be modified.
You can fine-tune the recipes for crafting the Military Crates, including the materials and skills required.

in the servertest_SandboxVars.lua file, the option should be set to 12 if we want the 100 uses, right?

Hi there, is there a way to control how much each item cost to be crafted? Specially the metal ones.
Is there a way to key bind to rotate what I'm building. Rotate says NONE and the Default is "R" for the other build mechanics. Where can I set this?

That key is the default Rotate Key used by the vanilla building action. And can be set from the Game Options > Key Bindings. Try defaulting your key bindings
