I think a taunt like this would generally be suited with some kind of mechanic where you can taunt, which activates a startup thing like the high-five, and then multiple people can join around you and wait with their drinks raised until whoever started the taunt presses G again. That'd allow people to use it as a partner/party emote if they want to while also being able to use it as an actual taunt after getting a kill.
That'd be a pretty unrealistic expectation for Valve to have something like that implemented though, so I think this goes well with what it has to work with.

Or you can make it like mannrobics, so when a player start the taunt, their merc will stand idly while holding the drinks, and the player have to press left mouse button to cheers & drink (ofc it has to be joinable)

I have an idea after realising someone said it should have a lonely and party version, it starts as a regular taunt but during the duration you can join it with the taunt key (g by default) and it makes you join in on drinking it regardless of you having the taunt or not

id rather a taunt be, a taunt
