Let's say you want "B" on xbox controller or "O" on ps controller to make your character climb, you can either do that through double tap or button chord, the latter is preferable because it doesn't add latency, here's an example:
1. Right click on game in steam > manage > controller layout > edit layout
2. Choose the desired button ("B" or "O") and click on gear icon > add extra command > choose key
3. Click on gear icon next to a new command > regular press > button chord
4. Click the same gear icon again > settings > choose chord button (i recommend Left Bumper because it is barely used in the game else were)
5. That's it, now, when you are close to the wall press Left Bumper and B to climb!
