Post EE Review [Minor Spoilers]
Prologue:
Please keep in mind, that this is a purely subjective review mainly for the creator, or those interested to read. No offense is intended!

I just finished a COOP match with a friend. Finally beating the EE. This past week has been some of the most fun in zombies I've had in a long, long while.

Being able to actively help search, and figure out the EE with the community was a first for me. I've been around since BO1 Kino. And have loved this game mode since. I never got to truly interact or enjoy a map to this extent, as everything was always figured out within hours of map release. But this took effort. No Guides at first. And I loved it.

Despite some hiccups from release (which are normal in these things). I absolutely love this map to death. I'm gonna explain why below..

Review:
The atmosphere is 10/10. That feeling of absolutely crazy WW2 style engineering from Origins. Where it wasn't completely overshadowed by a bunch of absolutely over the top non sense. Fits really well in this map. It's not big, and not necessarily small either when you consider the zeppelin.

And that's something I love the most. Calling in a giant zeppelin where you not only can pack a punch.. But involves the easter egg among other things you can do up there? Has to be the coolest s**t. And early on, I knew it was my favorite way to PaP in any COD Zombies map. Including Treyarch ones, seriously.

The maps flow feels quite good. Originally, perks felt a bit slow to buy. I wasn't too upset with waiting. But the RNG was a bit rough, and still can be. However, adding perk slot upgrades was a MASSIVE improvement. And I actually kinda like the uniqueness of the perk deployment system. However I'm a small minority for that feature. It just adds to the maps originality for me.

Weapons are hit or miss in terms of damage. Some seem to be slightly poor, while others are just right. The WW for example is honestly quite weak. Even once you learn it's feature of stun and shoot to finish for an explosion. I was hoping there would be variants on early plays since it's during Origins where there are elements for staffs. Like having a fire version, air, ice and of course. The one we have now. I will say though, I love how some of the regular weapons have unique pack a punch effects. I won't spoil, but I suggest pack a punching some guns to see for yourself! There's one I used during the EE that I never thought I'd use... However it had an effect that really grew on me. The only unfortunate thing, is these weapons can't be repacked. And while I get that the repack in this map is a massive damage overhaul with an AAT (at 10k btw, so be aware). It took us till about round 37 (rough RNG) to finally get to the end of the EE. And unfortunately, the weapons that couldn't be repacked, started to suffer. (At least, the ones we used).

Final Thoughts
There's a lot more I could say, but this is already way longer than I intended. All in all, this map may seem small. But holds more than meets the eye. There are still EE's needing to be figured out as of writing this. Knocking, Morse Code (possibly), The Bells?, The Cipher... Maybe other stuff too. Top 3 maps for me, hands down. Maybe even my Number 1... But I'll need to really think about that one.

Suggestions:

• Allowing repack for all or most weapons either when you have to repack / pack to obtain the key, or post EE completion. Either helpful for the boss fight, or even if after just for fun.
When back in the map, you can still spend 500 to call for transport. Surely a bug, but perhaps could be a way to survive a few more rounds and have a buy-able evac? (Doesn't have to be a zeppelin, but some vehicle to escort everyone out would be nifty!)
Electric Cherry. Sounds silly, but even as a side EE, or unlockable or something. I missed this perk! - I'd trade it for Blood Wolf personally.

• Making similar maps in the future! With all love ChickenHatMan. You've made my week with this map! I actually prefer it over Iron Dragon. Thank you for all your hard work!

And a HUGE thank you to the community who also put in tons of research and hard work for help uncovering this map! Without you all, BO3 zombies maps to this extent would not exist.

I agree with most of your points. This is one of the only custom maps i've played which I would believe to be made by Treyarch if you told me. The easter egg steps were unique and difficult to figure out which made it all the better (what an easter egg is supposed to be really), and the attention to detail in every part of the map is unrivalled.

I'm planning to add a few more perks in the future, and possibly a weapon or two on par with some of the more extravagant weapons on the map.

Cherry was initially cut because it conflicted with the design of the Voltgewehr, having two causes for stunned zombies with the same fx wasn't amazing, though I can see a future with it re-implemented differently.

The post-ee morse code and lack of exfil/game-end is very much intentional, these four soldiers ultimately do not survive this battle.

Reading your review and other positive reviews has significantly improved my week amidst a bumpy launch, glad you enjoyed it.:lunar2019piginablanket:

All makes sense to me! I can see how having electric reloading with an electric weapon could be a bit eccentric. I actually like that ending idea as well. Now knowing it’s intentional, really helps set the tone! Compared to most maps where you do indeed leave. Thanks for clarifying!

Yeah it is great map. Which unique gun were you using during the EE?
Things I'd be interested in seeing:
  • An official list of main and side EE steps from the creator (or just edits to the existing EE discussion guide for accuracy and missing steps)
  • An official list of all the unique PAP effects from the creator

    I also noticed in the map description that there is custom lethal equipment. Is that the grenades or something else not found yet?

I used the Austen. When PaP'd becomes the Whispering Winds. And the Panic Attack Burst Shotgun at the very end. Didn't do anything special when PaP'd from memory. Just wanted something with firepower for the boss fight!

As for Lethal, I assume it's the M18 Stielhandgranate (Grenades you spawn with / get out of the box has a one hit KO weapon).

As for official lists, I might be willing to go in and test out each PaP weapon variant to see what they do differently and post! - The creator is probably busy still doing some polishing work on the map and possibly looking into their next project. Not sure if they'd have time writing out fully fledged lists. That's where we as a community come in! Jared's full map guide is well organized and I believe they're updating it when possible.

I feel like the easter egg or round 50 needs something more to show that u completed it. maybe something as simple as the skybox changes
