Also, are you in single player, a dedi server or are you hosting off your game?
This is a dedicated server. I have only tried the Chibi unlock so far so I don't know if others are impacted.

Unless I'm drastically misunderstanding a recent change, those should be fine since they've been accurate since the most recent ascension caps were applied? They worked accurately with the last couple servers and ascension boosts.
I'm spinning up a test server now to validate max levels and if it's only tied to specific unlocks.
Your order is flipped, according to this the first time that appears it applies to players, the second it appears it applies to dinos
I'm not able to re-produce the issue on a new Test server. The ascension items respect level caps there from what I'm seeing. I'll copy over the existing character and see if that makes a difference.
If it's not the overrides, the only other exp related change I made was to enable the player death exp penalties after the ascension mod was already in place.
If I find anything noteworthy that directly points to an issue in this mod I'll let you know. If not we can delete this thread so-as not to confuse people.
Sorry I just now realize you realize the level 298 is the player curve. As best I can tell you do not need to specify a curve beyond the 200 that you want players to go. That would be my first place to look.
I cannot do it tonight but this weekend I can spend some time testing, I will need to update my dedi server files
For player exp scaling you have to account for each of the ascension levels possible beyond the base amount. ARK currently has 100 possible ascension levels so you have to define a level scaler with +100 levels above your max which is why you're seeing it up to 298. This represents a level 200 hard-cap pre-ascension with drastic exp ramp when moving beyond that as the ascension level ups begin.
Player XP penalty is coming from the DeathInventoryKeeper mod.
NOTE: Copying over the impacted character to the test server locked exp where it was. This might be something related to either Omega gear or possibly the XP penalty. If I track it down I'll share.
