Some of the issues I've had
Hey, I was thinking maybe it could be helpful to the developers to document some of the issues that I've personally encountered using this mod. I'll include my specifications below as it includes issues with performance.

  • Many Soviet aligned countries in the begin subsidize everything at the start. This destroys AI economies and sees a very early commie bloc collapse.
  • Many states are either unable or refuse to have standing armies (especially former Soviet states such as Russia, Siberia, Tatarstan etc.) meaning that when the USSR inevitably collapses (especially as an AI as they do not seem able to deal with the subsidy issue) so when revolution/revolt/civil war breaks out, the wars remain forever at 0v0. I believe this is in part responsible for my performance issues.
  • Massive lag starting fairly early on. Come the 1960s especially if/when the Soviet Union collapses. I believe the unwinnable wars are partly to blame for this.
  • Tying housing to construction sectors primarily introduces somewhat of a problem for minor states. The need for massive amounts of construction sectors forces a country into deficit spending, which is untenable without a great credit rating. Poor budgets destroy your credit rating, which means building a proper amount of housing sends you into a cycle of defaulting and a massive waiting period without construction. This may be a design choice that I do not entirely understand and if this is the case I would appreciate having my mistake pointed out.
  • The above could be alleviated somewhat perhaps by having the housing for all journal event count the availability or price of the "housing" commodity instead of the number of housing districts from construction sectors, this way urban centers may more readily contribute to it and allow urbanize to be a viable means of building housing for poorer countries such as Ireland.

I will update this if I find any bugs in addition to balancing/performance issues and try to do my best to explain how to reproduce them
