FAQ (please read)
note : a lot of this is taken from the original's mod FAQ, you can find it there : https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?334105-The-Aristeia-FAQ

note 2 : most of the heroes-related issues can be fixed by using my submod which turns them to standard units : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2976401069

Unit cards are broken

Make sure to use the realisitic color scheme option.

Custom battles don't use generals but captains, so the second body is that of the captain and is unavoidable.
As for the camera issue, this comes from the fact that I had to hide the general high up in the sky for heroes to work.

When I launch a battle with a hero as the general, the deployment camera starts way to high

This is caused by the issue addressed in the 1st question, just zoom in when the deployment phase start.
Never press tab while in the deployment phase tho, this will cause a crash.

One on one hero battles aren't very smooth

One man units are implemented by using the elephant class in the RTW engine. This will result in them charging and fighting awkwardly. Given the limits of the game engine this is also unavoidable (even with the new options in the remaster)

My heroes units have 2 men visible

Set your unit size to high or lower.

Heroes are too fragile/overpowered

Heroes in this mod are very capable fighters, as they should be, but they are not invincible, and will die if stranded from the rest of the army and surrounded by too many units.
Effective ways to kill heroes are :
  1. using your own heroes, as most hero vs hero duels will quickly end in the death of one of the participants,
  2. using chariots, even heroes can't survive being ran over by multiple chariots at once,
  3. using berserker units, as they will kill any hero units in a couple of seconds; I'm not sure why this is the case, but it works.

Achilles can't move in the Iliad campaign

this is caused by the Fury of Achilles script, which represents Achilles being insulted by Agamemnon and refusing to fight. Achilles will be able to move again once Patroklos dies, although sometimes it may take more turn.

A note on regional recruitment :

In Aristeia we have implemented a regional recruitment system which allows all factions to recruit the generic unit types of each region. For each of these units there are unique textures. For example, as the house of Atreus, if I successfully capture Troy I will be able to recruit all of the generic mysian region units. The generic units are as follows:-

Spearmen, swordsmen, slingers, archers, javeliniers.

Each regional variety has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Each faction can however train its native generic types in any region if they build a port of adequate size to ship them in. As well as adding variety to the armies of each faction this feature also introduces a new game-play element. You will not be able to retrain your native soldiers in foreign lands unless a port is available. In land locked areas native troops will never be available - and so re-supplying your forces by capturing settlements with ports will be of great importance. The only other way to resupply will be to manually bring in new troops by sea. This is of particular importance for the coastal camps around troy where no recruitment is possible.

Each faction also has unique 'guard' units. These are dependent on your factions ruling house and can be recruited anywhere if there is a suitable size government building. The downside of relying on these troops however is that they are more expensive and take twice as long to recruit.

In Aristeia there are also regional specific units, such as the myrmidons, Trojan silver spearmen and carian axmen. In order to recruit these troops the required region must be under your control.
