Softlocked on Pleasantville

In the Pleasantville chapter, I climbed a ladder and got force fielded into a small area with two headcrabs that jump out and needs a battery inserted into a device to leave. Russel states "There has to be a battery somewhere..." but there, in fact, is not.

So of course I found it after 15 mins but seconds after making this, when I got grabbed and choked by an invisible barnacle tongue and thought my game was glitching. I didnt see that barnacle at all but somehow the third time I jumped on the barrel its invisible tongue started choking me
