New Taunt: Most Wanted!

Probably Going to Get a Lot of Hate for This
Hi, I'm an animator and I gotta say these taunts are awesome and all but can't we wait for Valve to make the taunt workshop official?
So everyone can have a go at it at the same time. I feel like these taunts are cheating their way into the game by their rise in popularity and making Valve notice them earlier than expected.
I don't mean to insult or anything it just feels unfair really >_<

Workshop is for anything created in the game, Not just hats or weapons.

Popularity of these items is because they are good, and have a strong rating, nothing unfair to what I can see. If you feel like you are being left out, a lot of people still use GAMEBANANA...

I actualy think that it is a good idea to post them here. It maybe will create awareness that people want the taunt workshop and that the TF2-team needs to speed up it's development. I still see your point though.

I have to disagree on these. TF2 workshop should be used for cosmetic and weapon models. Anything beyond that is bound to end up in the incompatible list. Sure there are smaller things like the sound devices category, but there aren't any maps in the workshop as far as I know, that said there shouldn't be any taunts as well. At least not yet.
And I think the difference between Gamebanana and the TF2 workshop can be really easily distinguished.
If you upload something to GB it will be just a re-skin, but if your item actually gets into TF2 that's a whole different story :s

Couldn't have said it better if I tried :8bitheart:

I'm not sure if you're aware, but this is how the workshop is supposed to work.

I'm also sure that something that isn't popular or well liked wouldn't be a good addition against something that actually is.

I don't remember Valve mentioning a TAUNT workshop. They seemed to only say they were implementing a way to upload such taunts into the current workshop. If people want to make taunts like this there's no stopping them from doing so.

if valve announces something, you MAKE IT. just like how the workshop got flooded with space-themed stuff after the moonbase concept art was released

Personally I have never tried workshop so I am running of common logic here, forgive me if Im wrong but youre item can gain popularity through GB just as much as workshop, but will mean that its harder to intigrate into the game or will have to be converted into the workshop so it can be approved.

Look at the medics "Pop it, dont drop it taunt" and heavy's Airshag. Even if it doesnt come onto the workshop, people who still wish to use these taunts before they are introduced into the game may use them at free will.

That's true. There's also the risk of some jackass downloading your item and uploading it to the workshop before you. But that's something else, I see what you mean though.

Taunts are different though.

I'll still use my original argument on this. If there aren't any maps in the workshop. There shouldn't be any taunts as well. Not just yet.

I guess you're right. The TF2 workshop at first was for cosmetics and cosmetics only. But recently they added a support for weapons, after their rise in popularity... Don't know man, if that's the case. Maybe I should start uploading some of my taunts too? :(

I really don't see the problem. Yes, the taunts aren't capable of making it into the game until the workshop is made compatible for taunts, but I don't see why that means people can't at least get people looking at their taunts beforehand.

And while I haven't checked, there probably are at least a couple of map designs strewn throughout the TF2 workshop.

Well I disagree with that because, it is not that taunts should not be excluded from the workshop but, included. These taunts are obviously new to the workshop due to the new update. Therefore these taunts are going to start coming up on the workshop, and as I can see this can be a nucince to some people, however if someone wants to pitch an idea to Valve via workshop that is there nowhere else to add it. Unless Valve makes a taunt worshop or a separate part of the workshop to add taunts the workshop is the only place to add it. Now as for maps, I think maps is something only Valve can make.

Alright, I can go with that. Although, you are wrong about the maps. A significant part of the current TF2 maps has been made by the community. There are even stamps in the store, which you can buy to support the people who made them.
