So potentially you could alleviate the hassle of distribution testing on your end (unless you still feel the Medical loot table is overly saturated), just by working with that Author, or recommending that mod to others as a stop gap. It also allows for the decrease of loot over time, if enabled.
Many minds collaborating, each with their unique task. :) Hope this helps. And thanks again for this masterpiece!
@Script_Variable Awesome thank you - I will look into that - tuning those settings would be nice cause PZ is a bit mysterious with how it manages some of this. For now I added some additional sandbox settings that allow for great reductions in loot chances.
(Also do the meds spawn in safehouses)
Feel free to suggest some - I am not sure if I will expand this mod with more medications or not - it is possible. I am considering making additional medication mods too. So I am open to suggestions :)
I am unsure if meds will spawn in safe houses - it may be possible - say if the house belongs to a first responder, doctor or military personnel before the player claims it - that may trigger loot to appear there in the bedroom or bathroom.
But since you mentioned additional mods
Would it be hard to like make a mod that adds more pills and stuff. Like can you like just copy and paste some code and change the names of the meds or is it like WAY more complex?
It really depends on your experience coding and what you are trying to do. This mod is made pretty simple at the code because I wanted to make it capable of running on servers with A LOT of players. So I did not add events or anything like this that tend to bog down when many players are present. Because of that it is probably a good mod to learn from too - and I would recommend you do that if you are interested! You can always ask me questions and I will try to help too.
It is also a lot of time consuming work. Most of the work of this mod has gone into getting many language support for our international friends and fine tuning things like the loot tables or actual text that reads out when things happens. So it is easy to get sucked in a lot too!
Let me know if you have any questions and I am happy to try to help. :)
I guess I'll hold onto the meds names for a while.
As for the mod I really just thought about more pills/syretes using the stuff already in the mod
Also had the idea of store-bought pills that expand your lifespan by only a few hours, 3-6, 2-4 etc.
You have like a discord where it's easier to talk than steam discussions? Or alternatively a friend request?
The Zomboid stats and variable system really gives you a lot of power to do interesting things. I have just touched on it with this mod but it would be possible to make a lot of different medicines that affect you in different ways. I made this mod more of a cure mod but my next one will probably be more about things you can use during combat or to get through cold weather and things like that.
